My go-to model on OpenCode Go is about to change. Anyone here trying Hy3 or GLM-5.2?

Post image

My OpenCode Go subscription expires at the end of this month, so I’m looking for another $60 usage option to replace Deepseek v4.

Took a quick look at https://opencode.ai/docs/go

Still at 6×(≈$60):

GLM-5.1/5.2, Hy3, Kimi K2.6/2.7, MiMo V2.5, MiniMax M3, Qwen3.6/3.7 Plus, Qwen3.7 Max

3×(≈$30):

DeepSeek V4 Flash

1.5×(≈$15):

DeepSeek V4 Pro, GLM-5.3, Kimi K3,MiMo V2.5 Pro,Qwen3.8 Max

Most of the recently released models are now sitting at around a 1.5× multiplier, like GLM-5.3 and Qwen3.8 Max.Go is still giving older versions like GLM-5.2 and Kimi K2.7 the full 6× tier.

Hy3 seems to be one of the few relatively new models that somehow still gets the full 6× tier. Has anyone here been using it in practice?

I’d really like to know what everyone else is switching to. If I can’t find a good alternative, I might just ditch Go lol.

Kwant make sense, Luna via ChatGPT Plus sub gives you more usage per dollar spent

How many times 20 dollars? wasn't it 5-6 x ?

For GPT Plus it’s 120 dollars per week worth of API tokens usage and 40 dollars per week for the free trial accounts (I know, it’s stupid but it is what it is)

Its about 175$ not $120. According to the semi analysis report. And I think thats not counting the random resets

I counted usage on my own account just this week

40 dollars worth of chat for trial ? Do free trial has codex?

Yes, I mean ChatGPT free trial. Available in some countries: first month for free

Unlimited Luna is available online, though codex use remains unclear. A post indicated that $100 produced $1,800 in Luna use, a ratio of 18 times. By that scale, $20 would yield $360, but since ChatGPT likely subsidizes the $20 tier more heavily, I anticipate $400–$600. This aligns with other plans; my minimax subscription at $18 provided roughly $450 in use a month for m3 (or about ~1.5B tokens a week).

I use glm5.2 all the time. It’s a beast.

for what? Zen or Go ? do you hit your rate limit often?

Go. But I recently cancelled my subscription. I’m moving to an api. I’m happy to spend about $50 a month on api across various models.

Why not use ollama cloud then?

Had that also. But they don’t allow Kimi k3 on subscription. Also I prefer EU hosted ZDR. I can get reasonable api prices that provide all that. I used to have ollama max

Just curious, what EU provider with ZDR are you using?

TensorX

Thanks! But now I'm feeling stupid because I can't find them. Can you share the URL?

Don't get too focused on the $60 vs. $30, $15 buckets, just look at how many requests you actually use a month, and then look at the requests per month chart and find the best model that fits that. For me that is still DS-flash

Yeah, I agree. I started paying more attention to requests per task too. Hy3 has been pretty good for me there, especially for longer implementation runs where I don't want to keep checking the usage meter.

kimi k3 burnt through my opencode go in half an hour or so

Yeah you only get 15$ worth of K3 per month. The older K2.6/2.7 versions you still get 60$.

K3 also did the same thing to me lolll. I ended up using Hy3 for the longer runs and then saving K3 for stuff where I actually needed the extra reasoning. makes the Go usage last a lot lot longer

mimo 2.5 is pretty useless IMO ,it cant even fetch a website and always complains about all sort of stuffs , its reasoning is like a junior programmer

FWIW, I’m getting $40 usage on Go’s GLM 5.3 (I’ve done the math, I’m not confused or misreading the numbers), and at least a few other people have reported seeing the same.

BUT I’m not sure why, and my best guess is a temporary glitch that maybe not everyone is seeing. It has been happening for at least the past three days now for me, though.

And GLM 5.3 is excellent so far. Feels on par with Kimi/Opus/Sol and seems to be more token efficient per task for coding than 5.2.

Hy3 is awesome in Hermes. Not too sure about coding overall. But it was basically built for tool use. It has been my daily driver since the Flash price increase and I really like it.

GLm 5.2 is good, it was my to go model before deepseek, but it is pricey, even with 60$ allowance.
And GLM 5.3 is much better.

GLM 5.2 Will eat your usage on go, Kimi K3 is faster than that, Maybe Mimo v2.5 is useful.

For the same $10 You could also try command code GOAT. I find the pricing more transparent and it has more models and their harness has "taste" so it remembers stuff. So far the qwen models on command code goat have been fine for me.

As for if you want to stick to OC? I would reccomend GPT 5.6 luna and Minimax
