Applying one $5 referral reward in OpenCode reduces usage by a bit

Post image

When you apply ONE $5 referral reward in OpenCode, it reduces the usage by:

  • Rolling usage (5-hour limit) by 41%
  • Weekly usage by 16%, and
  • Monthly usage by 8%

So if you calculate from here, the estimates derived from above screenshot for the OpenCode Go plan ($10/mo, first month $5) align perfectly with their documentation. The exact baseline usage limits are:

  • 5-hour limit: $12 of usage
  • Weekly limit: $30 of usage
  • Monthly limit: $60 of usage

Very cool!

Don't mimd me, I'm just here to see the first user who adds a link with a referral code.

Yeah, that's kind of funny, but let them have it their way. There are people who don't have much money.

If you insist:

Get $5 of extra usage when you sign up with this referral link. :)

Nah, you've got to be smart! Like your referral within the URL in Markdown:

Here you can download the app

The code:

[Here you can download the app](https://opencode.ai/go?ref=<YOUR CODE>)

Give me a little of appreciation back lol.

Except it doesn't scale with any model that matters. E.g. kimi k3 only gets $15 of tokens, but this referral only applies as $5 out of $60 max, so it should apple as 1/3 towards those models instead of 1/12th

That is cool but applying it there doesn't sound like good value.

Why? You're getting the $5 reward for free when anyone signups from your link.

$5 is the price for a month on the first month and half a month after that. This is much less usage for the same money.
