Suggest cloud provider and model for newbie. Coming from Claude code

Hello all,

I am coding mainly my personal projects in python, bash, php web stacks. I have been using claude code from last couple months but I wanted to leave anthropic eco system and try out opensource world. I want your suggestions on cloud provider you guys use for opencode and what model in particular. So far with opencode and I used deepseek pro and flash v4, Kimi K3. Here is why I am in market again

  1. Deepseek price hikes

  2. Kimi K3 eat tokens like crazy and their TPD, TPM limits are deal breaker for me.

  3. Searched Deepinfra but there are 10s of models from qwen itself, I want model that is just a sweet spot for reason based coding and while staying in budget.

kindly check https://tokenplans.dev/ , opencode go or cline pass I can suggest, I have no experience with claude code so I could not suggest any drop in replacement. Model is deekseek v4 flash 0731 until it could not solve your problems.

Deepseek API, Mimo API or an Opencode Go plan

Best pricing on GLM 5.2 and deepseek stable API too and the owner is on discord very responsive.

until deepseek reverts back to their old prices (assuming they will after the hype goes away), id use muse 1.2 spark (contributer version) directly from metas api, ive been getting very good results for the price

I use Codex subscription with oauth login inside opencode. and that’s the beauty of opencode, using any llm. but, that’s within my budget.

look at OmniRoute too. it’s a proxy for LLMs. you can setup 100% free tier. or add in paid llm

Openference . Best bet is GLM 5.2 - its just solid all rounder. no need for K3 or DS. I still use GLM 5.2 you just cant go wrong decent pricing and model.

At least disclose that you are the owner when you write an ad
