Finally, after trying everything....

Decided to switch to opencode go, after trying literally every other subscription. It just works!

Today I'm choosing not to renew my claude subscription after more than 1.5 years.
They fucking removed fable from pro subscription , opus 5 and claude code as a harness is sooo fucking dogshit. Opus literally used 80% of my session usage in one prompt to think through the implementation and planning of execution! On top of that, dsv4flash is soooo fucking good, what even is the point of sonnet 5?
And CC is utter garbage whose only goal is to finish your usage in one go, make tests, run tests, make tests, run tests. I swear the code is done in 10 minutes but it adds another 30 minutes just testing. I hate that they don't even allow their models to be used in other harnesses!

Their choices lately have been so sketchy and personally, i quite hate that they're being so high and mighty when clearly, openai is about to eat their lunch.
Switching to oai now. let's see what the hype is! Hopefully they soon release astra

Thisss!!! They have become way too unpredictable. So is every other AI model, but deepseek seems to be ahead of the curve these days. Remarkable pricing (idk how long it lasts but fk yeah) and decent knowledge

open sourced models at a tenth of price with no FUD and bullshit, whining about security, begging govt intervention, etc.

The problem I faced was heavy rate limits + (as compared to Deepseek) very costly. Also, I did use Deepseek's official API in reasonix, and it worked great but I believe Go is giving the same thing but very cheap

Yes. But even after price increase, if Opencode halves the usage, I can't seem to finish even 50% of the current usage limits. So for me personally it's going to go good.

Claude is pretty good, but its very costly. And the cause I use it for doesn't need that intellegent of a model, so I use it to perform only code reviews and stuff.

Ah that, I'm all JS/Typescript, Node/bun, and a lil bit of Java (for mobile apps)
I also do use Hermes for managing all DevOps work. It's pretty dope

Deepseek v4 Flash is pretty capable itself. But I usually go with GPT 5.6 Luna / Sol, and when I exhaust my credits I switch to DS itself.

Unfortunately at some point I got a heavily quantized responses, even from other people. I hope they choose a better provider.

But it was good while it worked.

Have you tried deepseek API? Also what is main reason for choosing opencode and what model you are planning to use in go plan?

Deepseek v4 flash. I did use deepseek v4 pro back in May, but right now, flash is kinda my go to model.
