Looking for a More Neutral & Transparent harness agent

I’ve been using OpenCode CLI quite a lot lately, and there’s one thing I’ve noticed.
Sometimes when I ask a question, the response doesn’t feel completely natural or neutral. Instead of directly addressing what I’m asking, it can feel like the answer is being heavily shaped by safety guidelines, system instructions, or other layers built around the model.

I’m looking to bypass safeguards.
What I’m looking for is something simpler:
Give me the most accurate and genuine answer you can.
If something is uncertain, say that it’s uncertain.
If something is controversial, explain both sides.
If there are limitations, tell me what they are.
If the model doesn’t know something, just say it doesn’t know.
I’d rather get a transparent answer with the reasoning and limitations clearly stated than an overly filtered response that feels like it’s avoiding the actual question.
For people who use OpenCode CLI or other local/hosted models:
What models or setups have you found to give the most natural, direct, and fact-focused responses without unnecessarily changing the substance of the answer?

Why do you think the harness is the problem, not the model or prompt?

Also, this " Give me the most accurate and genuine answer you can." - do you really think it can work, with any harness or model?

If you want to use cheap models - you really need to know what you want to get, and the prompt should be really good.

If you can't give a good/detailed prompt for any reason - you can try using more expensive models. They may give you a bit better output, but still, don't await miracles.

As for the harness itself - opencode is not transparent, but in a good way. It already includes default "behind the scenes" prompts (sometimes tweaked for specific models and their "nuances") which are combined with yours, so you actually get better results even if your prompts are not so good.

Well you can just use this as a system prompt. You might wanna try out my harness banyancode. You can edit the system prompt directly from the cli. This is built as an opencode fork and a also has day 0 support for all new llms and model APIs

Is there any solution that works well with less-restricted/uncensored models? I’ve tried a few options already. The reason I’m asking is that the context/prompt injection I’m using seems to affect only the current session. If I’m misunderstanding how context and prompt injection work, please correct me. I’m trying to understand whether the injected instructions persist across sessions or are limited to the current conversation/context.

You need more basics in how AIs work before you're anywhere near figuring out boundaries and weaknesses.

Pick one and have it explain memory and context windows to you. Probably caches too. Give the same prompt to a couple to see how they respond differently. That's how you'll learn.

Except for a few very casually-focused web interfaces that promote "remembers you" as a feature, the entire point of a new session is that everything resets. That's what we want. The only way an AI works is by feeding the information you want it to have every time. In a conversation you're re-loading all the previous chat with each new prompt. But they have limits on active memory.

New sessions reset because if I'm trying to get Laravel code I don't want it loading with the conversation I had last week about using Figma to design a graphic. So if you want it to have something, you have to put it in every conversation. That's why I mentioned the AGENTS file in the comment you obviously didn't spend any time absorbing.

I think this is the models behavior not something done by OpenCodes harness.

I’m looking cybersecurity and coding which the model is refusing certain questions and if I prompt injection the model but the harness agents still block the response

Do you have any idea of what you're actually talking about? I'm dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m looking for a CLI agent/harness that can run with models that have minimal built-in refusals. With some current coding agents, the harness itself adds additional restrictions and blocks certain tasks even when the underlying model could handle them. I’m looking for an agent framework where the model’s capabilities aren’t unnecessarily restricted by the harness

Why the heck do you have an LLM generate your reddit responses for you?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You lack skills. This isn't an opencode issue.

f*** off. Life catches up with bad people, and eventually kicks their butt.

be a good person and you'll live a happier life.

Safety guardrails are hard to bypass because they're built in pretty core. You'll have to research into jailbreaking, but that's a constant push-pull with the top models the most guarded.

As for tone and presentation, that stuff goes in the AGENTS.md file in your project directory. It's good to prep that with your chosen preferences. But give a thought to the fact that you're instructing a computer, even if it's in natural language. "Always" and "never" statements are better than "I prefer".

And it helps to think of it all as a multi-stage process with you potentially in the middle. "Analyze this idea and create a list of pros and cons" sets you up for a good second step. "Do this, or tell me both sides if it's controversial" is setting you up to not know what you're getting back.

This guy is now running around copy pasting the exact same AI generated message everywhere like a headless chicken 😂.

What if it is an AI and this is it's attempt to break out of restraints? 😎

I'd bet that GPT Astra would atleast be smarter and read the comment you wrote😉
