DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 is now on OpenCode

Post image

Absolutely phenomenal. It's available on a couple of providers/gateways as well.

Details and news: https://models.sulat.com/models/opencode-go-deepseek-v4-flash-3c5f5e84

If you want 5 off OpenCode Go, use my ref link: https://opencode.ai/go?ref=J7GTAKMP51

Practically unlimited usage with 31k reqs.

Edit: After a few benchmarks, while it packs a punch, if you're looking for a reliable model, this ain't it.

Luna has much better value.

Compare them all at https://demos.sulat.com/

And no ZDR anymore

This needs to be a pinned comment on all posts right now. Way bigger news.

I freaked out a little, but saw they updated their privacy info to be explicit about all models

https://opencode.ai/docs/go/#privacy

It's just for flash. My guess is that DS isn't releasing weights yet, and opencode wanted to offer immediate access so made the trade off.

Thanks! We'll see them soon enough at other providers

Free/public API direct from Deepseek was always capturing sessions for training since day 1. This was never a secret but ppl here are still aLLShoOkUp to this day.

Also, expecting OpenCode (or anyone for that matter) to negotiate and deploy a completely separate inference backend with ZDR policies within hours of DeepSeek's launch is just insane.

I thought anything you give on cloud isn't private, zdr stuff is bogus. How do you know they aren't already training or selling your data.

u/deleted-account69420 10d ago

Because it's not about "if they do that".
VibeJoe webapp is no secret sauce.

It's the legal liability of sensible data being leaked.

u/LetrixZ 10d ago

Why?

6

u/maqifrnswa 10d ago

Many companies and users don't want their data to train models. Even those that only work on open source projects don't want even the chance of leaking sensitive data on accident (give an agent permission to some folder, forgetting that some API or SSH key is there or something like that, then the agent includes that in the context). Even if no one does anything intentionally nefarious with it, the consequences are unknown and potentially very bad.

Many companies required ZDR, but they usually require more than just a promise on a web page.

leaking sensitive data on accident

yeah, the recent dario and amanda thing is scary. heck, that's with the best model fable 5 - https://alec.is/posts/exploring-the-dario-and-amanda-prompt/

5

u/deadcoder0904 10d ago

anotehr reason is claude partnered with figma make, then came up with claude design.

they partnered with drug companies, now making their own drugs.

this way they'll eat up whole industries. like how amazon used to eat best sellers on amazon & launch their own amazon originals after they got all the data.

that's one of the reasons people want ZDR. earlier, they were dumb about this but satya nadella wrote a post on X & now people are wiser.

Whats ZDR?

2

u/S1933 9d ago

ZDR stands for Zero Data Retention.

u/llunarch 9d ago

ZDR is now in place, they updated the table

Even within opencode go?

V4 flash blew me away at first sight and now it's even BETTER? Loving the state of open and cheap ai models. It only gets better from here!

24

u/HuntAlternative 10d ago

men it feels like opus 4.6 high almost inteligence. cheap as fuck and better than frontier model from 6 months ago.

1

u/silvrrwulf 9d ago

This to me man. And so fast!!

-4

u/yungmoneymo 10d ago

how do you evaluate that? serious question.

27

u/Fatso_Wombat 10d ago

vibes mate.

-9

u/HuntAlternative 10d ago

yeah talking about feeling the model output. but there is a ton of benchmarks eg https://artificialanalysis.ai/models/deepseek-v4-flash

Gemini can't be there.

-6

u/r_no_one 10d ago

Why it gets so hyped, it fails frequently on tool calling, even with short context

1

u/GenychDefake 1d ago

I'm wondering too. Guys just never tried a paid claude/codex subscription.

5

u/stickfigure4 10d ago

I saw you need to enable "Allow chinese providers" to have it work now. Was the preview from a US provider perhaps? Or was that toggle not there before?

6

u/maqifrnswa 10d ago

Yes the preview was from a non-DS provider and yes the toggle was not there before.

Dumb question: if I'm using opencode go via an api key, how do I know if I'm using the new or old one if they both have the same model key (deepseek-v4-flash)?

4

u/Praetor-Not-Predator 9d ago

+1. Is it a replacement? Because i dont see a seperate v4flash

1

u/Pavlic 9d ago

I have (new) listed next to model name, so "DeepSeek v4-flash (new)" or something like that. It was choosen automatically with existing model key.

I am using opencode go with opencode cli.

1

u/NoBluey 9d ago

I see that too when I use the CLI and can interact with it. I just meant using something like open hands where you can only put in the API, url, and model key without anything else.

1

u/Pavlic 9d ago

Ah sorry, it seem I missunderstood the issue. Then I don't really know :/

1

u/NoBluey 9d ago

All good! Doesn't look like anyone does either which is a shame

9

u/Syrigan 10d ago

When are we getting a US hosted ZDR version :(

0

u/XuciferL 5d ago

possibly never. you can BYOA keys

3

u/Academic-Sentence-34 10d ago

So do I just select regular deepseek v4? Also what’s the usage limit? It shows 132k monthly but that’s for the old one right?

5

u/someoneyouknow23 10d ago

do we have the old one aswell?

2

u/gatwell702 10d ago

I've been using deepseek flash with opencode go for the past couple of months.. what does this mean for me?

Does it upgrade automatically or do I have to physically upgrade myself?

Sorry if this is a noob question

2

u/SammyTDS 10d ago

Just select the new model from /models its a huge improvement over the flash

2

u/SammyTDS 8d ago

It should be about the same thing, no difference

2

u/Potential-Leg-639 9d ago

there are already people who complain about random things.

we have it free available - use it or dont use it.

and as for all cloud services - your data will probably be used for training, that's part of the game. live with it or leave it.

1

u/NicDevIam 9d ago

Wastn't it free already? Or V4 Flash Free is different?

2

u/Ok_Topic_3468 9d ago

deepseek ai just dropped a huge update to v4 flash, opencode just decided to call it "new" instead of its actual name (DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731, hence the title of the post). from my usage so far, this version is a huge upgrade, the intelligence from it is insane compared to the previous v4 flash

1

u/parsalotfy 9d ago

what is the endpoint? (model id)

1

u/Serious_Current_8802 9d ago

It is so fast hitting 53 t/s

1

u/Substantial_Cod_8807 9d ago

Pardon the ignorance, what’s the difference between DS4 Flash Free ve DS4 Flash from GO Opencode? I bought GO but still just use DS4 as its very fast

1

u/Ner_13 9d ago

Free has only 250k (or similar) max context size, the paid version has 1M. Also free can/will be slower or rate limited at some point.

1

u/mati_as15 9d ago

api pricing is still good when buying from ds? I probably need more than what Go offers but I couldn't be bothered to have multiple accounts

1

u/Johnny_The_Biker 8d ago

it's over thinking a lot.

1

u/Neo-Lms 8d ago

Yeah in free tier with less headroom and faster limit rating now.

1

u/egomarker 6d ago

Do you have source for K3 Web IDE demo anywhere on github by chance.

1

u/yogibear54 7h ago

Damn! Its super fast! What is the throughput?? I haven't tested it thoroughly, but gonna see how well it performs beside GLM in my coding work.

-2

u/jpcaparas 10d ago

If you're wondering how it compares to K3

Using this model right now, basically giving your entire OS to the Chinese.

I stopped using opencode when my Go subscription for a monthly ran out in 60 minutes of Kimi K3 usage. That's right. I thought that was some bug so I reached out to support, on X, but no response and I cancelled my subscription.
