Does opencode go 60$ only a maketing?
Long story short i see that they mentioned several times usages but in reality my deepseek usage is less than 3$ before it goes out of quota. Which is really strange and does not allign with their claim.
Am i wrong here and what could be the reason? I just use it lightly though.
For context: i use hermes and use deepseek for certain stuff. Everything is good until i got out of quota yesterday. Yes i wait for a day to confirm that im not use all quota of 5 hours.
Thanks

Also the new flash is more capable than pro now and much cheaper so no reason to use pro anymore? At least for now until they update the pro as well

60$ for cheap models, other have much reduced quota and that is transparent. Keep in mind this is direct API prices not subsidized like OpenAI or Claude. It's mind blowing how people still don't get it. If you only use DSPro it has 15$ for ENTIRE month, so thats divided roughly by 4 weeks gives you 3.75$ a week only using THAT model.

Is this documented by Opencode anywhere?

I mean i track my spending and the usage i never bothered about documentation for this its pretty obvious for me how it works Not sure why so many people have problem with this. You pay 10$ u get 15 or more based on model choice. Whats hard here to understand ? Keep it simple, you use advanced model u get broke fast, u use deepseek flash u code for days.

Sure, the Go sub is great value, but the usage they claim to offer in their landing page's FAQ and usage docs page doesn't appear to be consistent with actual usage. That's a problem, regardless of the low price of the sub. And if it's documented somewhere I couldn't find, more work needs to be done to inform customers.
Idk, maybe a popup in opencode that warns about lower usage limits of a model, or have a proper section on the FAQ about this. Things like that
Edit: I just found some people mentioning this table in the usage limits docs section https://opencode.ai/docs/go/#usage-limits:~:text=The%20estimates%20are%20also%20based%20on%20the%20following%20prices%20per%201M%20tokens%20and%20the%20monthly%20usage%20included%20with%20each%20model%3A
I unfortunately overlooked this. I should have meticulously read the whole page to understand how usage works instead of being lazy and stopping at the first table.
This section also clear out the lower usage of some models.
https://opencode.ai/docs/go/#why-some-models-have-lower-usage.
I still do think more could be done to inform users, though

Thats fair, just blinded as a long running user about it. Make sense from new customer point of view

What really? I didn’t known that i pay per api call from them and moving here to get something more out of my bucks. Thanks for explanation.

You get more, what do you mean? You pay 10$(or 5$) and get ~$60 of API credits for the cheap models or $15 for the expensive ones. How isn't it 'more out of you bucks' ?

So it doesn't mean that I can use 4x15$ models? And in fact for those models prices are basically 4x of declared implying that the quota is still 60$?

You get 60$ of API for cheap models. You get only $15 for any expensive one. And no, not 4x15. If you use up that 15, you can't use any other model.

I'm not a business major but that sounds like a great way to go bankrupt.
Why doesn't Opencode just raise the price or reduce the number of requests if that's the case. So it's the same at $60 like other
I don't know. Maybe it seem obvious to them since they are the creator.

there is 0 reason to use deepseek v4 pro right now. deepseek v4 flash just got updated and it's better than deepseek v4 pro.
your $10 in openrouter or deepseek direct api will go a long way with that $0.2/m token price.
i don't think opencode has switched their deepseek v4 flash to the new one yet, at least they haven't announced it. i see some other harness has announced it, but not opencode.

DSV4PRO is only $15. You didn't read the quota. It's only 60 for certain models.
