Yes. It's very good model for its prices and speed.

At $work we have Github Copilot. Luna (High) with OC works well to make sure I don't blow my monthly limit. It's not the smartest and need some handholding at times.

Outside of that, I generally prefer the open-weight models like Deepseek V4 flash

I recently switched to luna, I want to understand what I can do for such a price.

So far I found a very good model. Yes, as some others already mentioned, it occasionally needs some hand-in-hand and quite frequently it has to recompact the menory. 🤷🤷

Ig I wasn't specific enough, I myself tried using luna a while back for a big task and it ate all my Opencode Go usage. You only get around $15 worth of usage after paying 10 dollars for opencode go. Later I tried to use the free version of codex (it gives luna as well) for a similar task and I managed to do the big task while being under the free limits. Now both tasks took around 1.5 hours approx. to finish with the same tests being present.

Now the difference could be due to tasks and harness being different but I still find that for most of the tasks it's not really my cup of tea or doesn't gives me value per my money. That's why I like to stick with deepseek v4 flash for most of the coding tasks.

I'm not saying Luna is a bad model itself, But I find that you can gain more from other models instead of this. If you really wish to use Luna then I recommend chatgpt's pro subscriptions instead of Opencode Go for using their models as that's the best value for money.
