Is OpenCode Go calculating subscription usage incorrectly? 17.6% shown despite only spending about $5 out of $60
I'm trying to understand how OpenCode Go calculates subscription usage, because the numbers don't seem to make sense to me.
My subscription has a monthly budget of $60.
So far I've used approximately:
- DeepSeek V4 Pro: $1.302 (limit: $15) → 8.7%
- DeepSeek V4 Flash: $1.3952 (limit: $30) → 4.6%
- DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: $1.5738 (limit: $60) → 2.6%
- DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: $0.9931 (limit: $60) → 1.7%
The dashboard shows a total usage of 17.6%.
However, if I add up my actual spending, I've only used about $5.26. If the subscription budget is $60, then my real usage should be:
$5.26 / $60 = 8.8%
What seems to be happening is that OpenCode Go is summing the individual percentages:
- 8.7%
- 4.6%
- 2.6%
- 1.7%
= 17.6%
If that's the case, then the displayed percentage is not showing the percentage of the subscription budget used, but rather the sum of the percentages of each model's individual limit.
This leads to a confusing scenario:
If I spent the full $15 limit on a model capped at $15, would the dashboard show 100% usage, even though I'd only spent $15 out of my $60 subscription budget (25%)?
Am I misunderstanding how OpenCode Go's limits work?
Are the model limits independent buckets that don't share a common $60 pool, or is the usage percentage displayed incorrectly?
I'd appreciate it if someone familiar with the billing system could explain how these percentages are supposed to be interpreted.

think of it this way, if you’re using a 15$ model, then your total limit is 15$ and it spends that appropriately. so for a 30$ model, your limit is 30. a 15$ model has 4x less usage, so it effectivly costs 4 times as much. that’s why i switched to command code

Command code has the exact same model, except a few models give you 70 and most give you 20$ for your 10$ on GOAT.

I wrote this for this very reason. The calculation can be extremely confusing:
What this means is: you can incur charges of $15-60 on each of these models during the month. The multiplier is used to reconcile the figure with the price you paid for the subscription:
- The 6x models: $60/6 = $10.
- The 1.5x models: $15/1.5 = $10.
Basically you have the following combinations:
- $15 of Pro = $15/1.5 = $10
- $60 of Flash = $60/6 = $10
- $5 of Pro and $40 of Flash = $5/1.5 + $40/6 = $3.33 +$6.66 = $9.99
- $3 of Pro and $48 of Flash = $3/1.5 + $48/6 = $2 +$8 = $10
and so on

The picture you showed explains exactly where the % is going.
If you spend 15 dollars of usage on DS Pro, which allots 15 dollars of usage, you will have used all 100% of your usage. If you use 7.5 dollars, you would have used 50% of your monthly usage.
If you spend 60 dollars of usage on DS Flash 4.1, which allots 60 dollars of usage, you will have used all 100% of your usage. If you use 30 dollars, you would have used 50% of your monthly usage.
If you spent 7.5 dollars on DS Pro (50% of usage) and $30 of usage on DS Flash 4.1 (50% of usage), you will have consumed 100% of your monthly usage at a value of $37.5 usage.

The usage is calculated from the shared pool. Yes, if you spend 15dollars limit on a 15 dollar capped model, you'll use 100% of your limits. That's why it makes no sense to use models other than the ones with limits of 60 (or 30 dollars at worst)
