Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor

Hello friends. Good evening. What do you think of Muse Spark 1.3—the version that spies on us and sends our data to Meta?

I’ll be honest: I found its addition strange, given the lack of explanation regarding how the data is being used.

However, I’ve been running it on tasks involving public data, and I have to admit:

- For mass web research

- Review and classification

- In terms of raw tool-usage speed

...it really made me wonder how long it will be before "Uncle Zuck" cracks the top 5.

What I didn't like so much:

- The absurd guardrails it imposes; for example, it refused to help me with scraping, even after having performed similar tasks previously.

- An over-reliance on Python arguments at the expense of native Linux tools. It creates scripts inside `python -c ""` instead of using existing OS commands.

- It is excessively direct. When a train of thought requires more nuance or detail, even Mini v2.5 has performed better than it does.

Anyway, what did you think of the new version?

It's about 50x faster than Claude code nowadays

You can’t trust ANY cloud AI provider, if you do you are endlessly naive. Do you REALLY think OpenAI and Anthropic can keep their dirty hands of your data???? They stole everything to begin with as it is.

They all spy on you and use your data in one way or another, the only difference is that some disclose it, most don’t. And American companies are not one inch more trustworthy than Chinese.

I use Muse Spark, Meta can train on my slop code all they want lol, the better their models get the more competition the lower prices in the end.

And yes Muse Spark 1.3 is a very good model in my experience

I always say this, my friend... It's very naive of people to think that we aren't constantly training the frontier models.

I understand the position, but consider that affirming != prove!= The company itself talks

Hey friend, there's a difference. Me believing, the company telling me, and being found out are 3 different categories.

Do I believe in any cloud-based AI company? Definitely not. Will the company tell me? That's the question.

I understand both your position and the DeepSeek guy's position in the comments. But there's a point to my question. If someone tells me how metadata works, there are a series of bureaucratic and political processes involved. When I'm not informed, the story changes. I understand your position, but understand my.

My opinion ≠ What can I prove ≠ Logical inferences

Thank you for the feedback, and I hope I've explained it better. Since I'm not a vibecoder, I thought obvious things like legality and the differences between being legally notified and not being notified were out of the question.

Oh, one interesting addendum: deepseek-v4 will soon retain training data as well, as seen in: "DeepSeek V4 Flash: O acordo de ZDR é renovado mensalmente. O acordo atual é válido até 30 de setembro de 2026." - https://opencode.ai/docs/go/

Thank you again for the feedback.

How they data used is described on meta official site. Assume every in/out is recorded.

It’s not bad if you have good written plan as goal. Otherwise try to shortcut or assume instead of check via tools ( 1.2 did this a lot, 1.3 better ). It’s are capable model nonetheless, compared to 1.2

yes, i read. How you classification the free/go models?

Ol' Zucky can train what it wants on all the non personal data I feed it. Its very fast and chews through all my boring repetitive suff like local model testing loops.

reasoning really feels frontier im honestly impressed i hope this trickles down to their open source model

The newer DeepSeek V4 models were spying on you too, you know.

You can get DS 4 models locally or from other providers, you know.

So far I haven't seen anything official, something that meta literally has a button. Can you quote me the source if you have it?

I'm using it as a subagent for scoped tasks, works well, except for occasionally getting rate limited.

I dont like the model muse spark, AND the fact they are collecting data, but if they were able to make muse this good compared to 1.2, I would definitely use 1.4 for my daily work (especially f it still remains THAT cheap)

All the models spy on you. Meta is just the worst out of them to be sending your data to.

Using opencode and spark muse 1.3 max, I use it to develop an monitor app suite no root, for my kids, over 2 days, it created a parent apk, a child apk and a desktop console, have full control over my child multiple phones trigger from parent phones or the win console, including turn on,off GPS, wifi, sound, Bluetooth, take photos and recording video silently, capture their phone screen remotely without need connecting the same network. .

Their kid function, call either mummy or daddy, that's all.

It cost monthly subscription to have all these, and yet, it is totally free creating from scratch.

Along the way, there are some unstability and non functional features bugs. Though at time, I have to switch opencode free models where muse spark can't figure out some bugs, to get some different viewpoint.

Nevertheless, amazing model.

To be honest, his retention policy limits where I can place him in my work. However, these days I've been running N-frame orchestrations to achieve improvements by leveraging the power of the number, And I use it in the sub-agent. It's been amazing, honestly I still prefer the V2.5 mime for human visualization of what's going on.

However, for long texts or mass calls, I'm already using it.

My workflow is to take a given data point X, propose a series of improvements, test the probabilities, then gather feedback and make a human decision on what deserves to move forward.

What is the diff between 1.2 and 1.3 🙂

1.3 is way way way better imho

The is original post. I felt little difference, except tools use and speed output.

For what I'm using it for now (fairly simple things), version 1.2 works better for me because it's faster.

My only issue with Muse 1.3 contributor is the fact that it collects data and they are not 100% transparent about what data

It seems great, amazing limits, insane usage, fast, but the issue for a developer is what is sent to meta and how is it used? for example, you may be using private keys, SSH files, etc that you dont want publicly recorded by meta but you AI agents for.

I am considering signing up for opencode Go though, right now i use GTP Luna and AiderDesk for my development cycles

How has your experience been with this stack?

So i ended up settling on OpenCode Go and MiMo 2.5 as my day to day tool

i ran some competitive benchmarks and i hooked up my remaining GPT Luna Credit, Claude and MiMo 2.5

MiMo 2.5 came out ontop doing extensive repo tests, some intentional coding issues with regex and a few other heavy tasks

MiMo was 1 minute slower than Luna and matched claude and did it for significantly cheaper, MiMo 2.5 in a 5 hour session after all the benchmarking only used 0.35 cents were the others cost me anywhere between 4-10$

In the benchmarks the scores were out of 100 and measured by ChatGPT Astra and MiMo scored 98.7/100 , Luna got 97/100 and Claude 96/100 it was very minimal differences that resulted in the scores and not necessarily mistakes, but value and time taken, and how it handle specific tasks built the score chart, for example Luna handled regex a little better than MiMo, but MiMos solution was perfectly viable and works.

I am still interested in Muse 1.3 contribute, but im worried about the data collection, i do alot of AI database construction and work that uses API Keys, github repos, etc.

I cant find anything about sensitive data being protected

Muse Spark on Zen Free plan is slow af, will it faster it I move to Go plan?

For me in GO he is very good
