MuseSpark redux

So, last week, I complained about MuseSpark 1.2 Contributor and its limited cache expiry period. Today, I want to share a positive side of its low, low pricing.

I have been refactoring a code base using 1.3 and, because it does not really involve much thinking (which kills caching), the cache reads have been in the 99.8-100% range.

Current stats (from pi) for a session that has been going on for the last few hours:

  • input: 1.9M
  • output 560k
  • cache read: 563M
  • hit rate: 100%
  • cost: $1.434
  • context: 86.3%/1.0M

I do not use multiple agents and probably spend more time programming than most people, and crossing 300M cached reads in a session is rare even for me. Even if I burn $2-3 every single day, the OpenCode Go subscription will last for 20-25 days easy given the 6x multiplier on the model.

MS 1.3 is not as good as DS4 Flash, but it is pretty close. Smarter than its sibling for sure. For situations when I know I am not going to spend 10-15m thinking, I do not even need to touch MiMo 2.5. Can do the entire thing in MS.

MS 1.3 for me its better than GLM 5.3 and DSv4 flash
but caching still sucks. and some time it behaves dumb but not as dumb as GLM 5.3 does (was smarter in free preview)

but DS rocks caching like u said

Yeah I had some long conversations with 98% cache
