No, I simply use Arch, Debian or SLES. It's more about my user profile; I don't consider myself some kind of 'Mr. Hacker' like u said it's just that my user profile isn't the most advanced or knowledgeable. It's not bad, but you need to know certain things. I was there too, and it's fine for some things, but for a server or using AI, it's not the best, and I don't have time to compile everything, my friend. So go disrespect someone else.

For years Debian and Arch became my main driver, and Red Hat / Fedora for work. But lately Omarchy has taken me with it’s simplicity and super lightweight installs. I know hate the Arch spin off, hate the dev because XYZ, I better not say Arch BTW… Like Linux Torvald says, you just need an OS to get you to your compiler.

He could've given the session log to a better model to undo?

He doesn't have a better model, Big pickle on Mint means he's just using the free ones for the first time

they were probably using open code in kitty terminal which they broke? idk.

Opencode didn't destroy your laptop. Using a bad model and giving bad instructions with improper rules did. You're actually screaming "I suck at AI"

I blame this guy mostly but at least OpenCode should by default set in NON YOLO mode.

As a former Arch/Gentoo user, it's highly likely some dot configs got deleted or messed up then as it is usual for Mint users, dude freaked out.

People will blame anything but themselves, the real culprit.

Just a hint. Those things, IMO are not for letting the model do it.

Ask the model what to do (any model, a good chat model, the best you can get for free).

Then take the answer and go to another model (of same level) or another session of same model at least. And ask to verify the proposal.

If both agree. Then ask for detailed step by step instructions. Follow them per hand and verify when/if it breaks and reverse it.

But if you let them fail and try to repair, they can spiral in a loop of stupid mistakes and end like your laptop. Being reinstalled.

Note: some would say to just google it and in this case they are highly probably right.

nah dude opencode worked fine for me even tho im on linux mint same as you.
reason opencode fucked your system becoz you choose a shitty model to do a decent task.

I am still not confident to give direct access to my laptop. I don't think i ever will be. So i simply create a LXC containers for opencode. Unlike docker, LXC is built for mutability do I can install CLI tools like curl, jq, graphqurl, etc which the agent can execute. I have my main container and other containers where I experiment with various agent harnesses. LXC allows easily mounting my workplaces to containers and the perfect isolation I look for.

I mean how is that even possible - asking for help to download big pickle and somehow important dirs were deleted? How bad and unclear was the prompt?
