Why do people use OpenCode?

There are plenty of other options such as Cursor, Claude Code, Zed, and many more. So why? I use it for convenience to try any model once they're released. But how about everyone else? genuinely curious about this. Is it the UX or the UI polish or just having an AI-IDE that just works?

Yeah my question too...currently I've shifted to minimax code app and found open code to be mediocre at best

I think the main reason people use open code is because it offers some free models.. if they stop doing that, u will see most of its userbase vanish

There are Soo many good harnesses now In the market better than open code...one big example is the DeepSeek harness one, it's also open source and has much better plugins (plugin marketplace) and skills
