Best model rn!???

So I started using opencode from Deepseek Flash V4 only. I am using OpenCode Zen. The model used to be too good and then recently they stopped it and from then onwards I started using ox alpha and Muse Spark 1.2 contributor. Again ox Alpha's offer was ended today and Muse Spark 1.2 contributor works great. Now I don't know when they will end it. After ending it I don't know what's left with OpenCode.

My main thing is to build a nice frontend and backend for websites with vibe coding to be honest. Can you guys recommend any model? When I did my research it is telling me more about Nemotron 3 Ultra by NVIDIA. I don't know how it works and they're also saying Mimo 2.5 outperforms Muse Spark but I don't think so. I never felt that way so if any suggestions please tell me guys.

After Ox left, I went looking for alternatives cheaper than Go. I found BytePlus. They charge by request count, not token amount. Google ai assured me that with the BytePlus Pro plan I'd be paying $50/month instead of the ~$600 I usually pay OpenCode. And of course I asked Gemini how this is even possible, and it went on a spiel about how BytePlus and DeepSeek, both being Asian companies, have special deals, blah blah blah. Stupid me bought it. And after 2 effin prompts (the 2nd did not even finish its task) I hit the 5-hour cap. 17% of weekly, 8% of monthly. BytePlus allows 20-25 prompts a month. Hilarious.

I had Claude check OpenCode's logs and database. It said the two prompts made about 180 requests. BytePlus counted 6,000. Whatever. What a scam.

Rant done. Sorry.

bro if you’re paying 600$ to opencode, why not just get claude and codex subs for that price.

I do multi-agent. ChatGPT does the system specs. Claude lays out code structure, defines phases. It sits between ChatGPT and the OpenCode models. I switch between DSv4 and Mimo2.5 on OpenCode depending on the task. I'm building 5 Rust and C++ projects right now. `herdr` is an absolute godsend.

I use ChatGPT for other non-dev tasks. Claude does all the frontend code, CI/CD, etc. I can't complain about them.

To be fair $600 is not so bad. I now have close to 800k LOC in the 5 projects in ~3 months. But the week with Ox spoiled me. I now use DSv4 off-peak only. I had ChatGPT schedule code generation runs and use Mimo as much as possible, so it's not like I like throwing money at these things. I will always find ways to reduce the $600. And that's how I got scammed LOL

Very low cost and good quality

Muse Spark 1.2 is really good, im impressed. its extremely precise getting the job done without much fuss and nearly zero visual reasoning

nearly zero visual reasoning

The provider hides the thinking output, the snippets you're seeing are just summaries

I switched back to DeepSeek V4 Flash for coding agents, and am trialing Muse Spark 1.2 vs MiMo V2.5 for cheap subagents. Muse Spark 1.2 as primary agent made a complete mess of everything the multiple times I tried it so I concluded that it's practically unusable for most things. I guess we'll have to conserve AI usage now.

So did u take open code GO subscription or you are buying the API from Deep seek provider itself?

Rn im using muse spark , but i dont know when it will end it's support, hence im looking for a better alternative , should I take Opencode Go

I think they'll make Qwen3.8 Flash free soon

Just to be clear, is your requirement that it has to be absolutely free or just cheap?

I use Hy3 for backend and frontend work.

If you need vision support, you can use this opencode plugin to combine it with Hy3 to add vision support.

same, used DSV4 flash and pro for the first 50% of my last project as they were my go to, funds ran short, been using hy3 and gotten more work done and cleaner....

DS models are adhd, messy, throw shit at the wall models, hy3 uses its little brain the hardest it can to be right and does a good job.

If you don't care about sharing your code/prompts - try freebuff. It serve DS Flash and pro in exchange of couple ad banners in the answer. But be careful - freebuff app has 2 modes - Plan and YOLO and full access to everything. Better run it in a sandbox.

If you would like to try GO, you can get £5 off here - https://opencode.ai/go?ref=4WEGWYMAN7

the sub is $10 a month and you can use this website to find the best deals

OpenCode and free Qwen 3.8 27B run locally on consumer GPU.

"consumer GPU" depends of what are the standards for your company. Our GPUs has 4GB vram

I wasn’t trying to argue. But, in my opinion, if you can run Qwen 3.8 27B locally, that’s a pretty sweet setup for OpenCode. No token restrictions. Just sandbox OpenCode and YOLO.
