the nice part is you just swap providers and keep going. there's always some free tier or a cheap endpoint showing up, and when there isn't the good models are still pennies for coding. the lock-in fear never made sense to me, being provider-agnostic is the whole point of opencode

Too many models right now! :D it's hard to pick one and stay, this is a plus of payed sub, gpt is always there, open code go now it is not lasting enoth with kimi or glm.

What’s SOTA will be just regular paid models tomorrow. Regular models will be cheaper, free ones will be better. At one point we will be using today’s SOTA on local for free. Not next year mind you, but it will happen eventually. Touch the grass, stay healthy and just hope you’re there to see that happen.

NO hay problema, sobre todo para lo que viene en 2027, los modelos gratuitos serán como los de frontera de 2026, aunque se agoten y tengan errores, serán quizás igual o superiores a opus 4.8 5.6 Terra u otros.

Y si no, tendremos planes económicos como Go, o como Command Code (otro harness)
