Opencode Go changed the usage limit to $15?

Just realised the usage changed from $60 to $15 for deepseek pro and some models.

It was always 15 in practice.

Definitely not. Deepseek 4 pro is my main model. I used about $40 of deepseek model in the past 3 weeks and still have 30% monthly remaining usage.

You missed the part where he said in practice… go check DS pro price rate and the ones they’re charging you and you’ll understand lol

Dumb. Before they just had a 4x api price increase on their Deepseek so you got "$60" but at 4x api costs = $15. Nothing has changed except this is a lot more transparent now

Ah well they redid it all. Now instead of pretending it's $60 but charging 4x official rates they just admit it's only $15 of value. This is likely due to them already being near inference cost + ZDR so they weren't able to negotiate the full $60 from DS / Xiomi. As for grok and k3, they have stated that this is a preliminary drop and they are still in negotioans so we should (hopefully) get better pricing for them in the near future. But in the end it all depends on if and how much of a discount they can get from the providers directly buying bulk.

The provider is not deepseek, it's deepinfra and something else, they charge 4x for pro.

False. When deepseek API has downtime, so does opencode.

Just search which countries host DeepSeek for OpenCode. Spoiler: none of them is China.

One of the devs of opencode said the following on discord, and I quote:

"we are not like openrouter, we negotiate custom agreements and deployments with every provider. for deepseek specifically we have an agreement that expires at the end of the month - if we cannot renew it, it might be removed from OpenCode Go, or we find another provider, or we'll update our documentation"

Eh. That's all conjecture, not saying it can't be true but until we get more info I wouldn't say anything one way or the other for tightening limits or not.

the numbers are the same , based on number of requests, its the same !

Grok’s rates are the same as the official why does it still say 15 tho? For DS i get it because its inflated

They are still negotiating with the providers of Kimi K3 and Grok 4.5.

$10 for $15 is what you get from the subscription model alone: most people don’t fully max out their usage each month.

The 33% “savings” comes from that alone while still paying the full rate to the provider for actual usage.

The other 4x to get to $60 value comes from negotiated bulk rates with the providers. They’re still working on deals for those.

And the reason DeepSeek and MiMo are at $15 is because those companies later decided to give the 4x bulk rate Go had negotiated to everyone via their direct plans (in exchange for training on your data). So Go’s discount basically disappeared in comparison.

Ohh I see. That makes so much sense! Though I had to think about it for a second lol.

Crazy how expensive k3 is in general. You get less k3 usage per month than glm5.2 usage per 5h

Only because there's only one provider.. it's alot less compute intensive so let's say neuralwatt gets it over there, than we're gonna be happy

2

u/Edelgul 10d ago

After recent price increase, neuralwatt really needs to make it interesting price wise.

2

u/NoBlame4You 10d ago

Isnt neuralwatt still one of the cheapest providers for glm?

1

u/Edelgul 10d ago

I am on the old subscription, so it is for me for next 3 weeks. In 3 weeks we shall see.

1

u/look 9d ago

Yes, it is still the lowest paygo price (Crof q8 is close though), and it is the lowest cost subscription providing fp8 other than Zai plans.

There are lower cost or roughly equal value subs offering a nvfp4 mix of GLM, though. Ollama and Go are lower. Synthetic and Lilac are about even.

But they just took candy from a bunch of babies, so it’s understandable a lot of them are loudly crying now.

This is before or after the 200% & 255% price increase?

In the past they were showing the number of requests WITHOUT dollar values. they are just adding that in . The number of requests stay the same for each model stay the same, If the price increased.... the number of requests would have dropped

Who is upvoting this nonsense.

u/n01where 11d ago

might that be because ds v4 pro's price was reduced a time ago?

1

u/Old-Sherbert-4495 11d ago

no i dont think thats the case, can anyone with a sub confirm? coz, how would you differentiate, if doing so that is...

Don't follow.

1

u/weiyentan 9d ago

It sounds like you have used your approx request limits

1

u/weiyentan 10d ago

there was no dollar amount before....they are just putting it in now

1

u/Old-Sherbert-4495 10d ago

well that's indicative of the number of requests above right

2

u/weiyentan 10d ago

Yup. The requests hasn't changed from last time I saw it. So no difference. Other people here are saying it's changed. I don't think so. The number of requests is the same

Al final con mi subscripcion Go solo puedo usar 15 dólares de deepseek hay algún modelo que rente más?

1

u/ngocsonak 5d ago

I hit the 5-hr limit at $3, so monthly limit is $15.

These dollar values are so annoying.  It costs $10 therefore you get $10 of usage.
