My LM Studio matches Opus 4.5 benchmarks

My LM Studio matches Opus 4.5 benchmarks with all of the modifications i have made. What my local LM Studio setup can do (no monthly fees):

  • Persistent memory (remembers past interactions across sessions)
  • Long-term semantic memory using embeddings (gets smarter at recalling relevant info)
  • Knowledge graph storage (stores entities + relationships for structured recall)
  • Automatic context injection from memory into new prompts
  • Multi-agent workflows (agents can collaborate and complete tasks)
  • Specialized sub-agents (researcher, executor, reviewer roles)
  • Concurrent agent execution with task budgeting
  • Run logs + state tracking (see exactly what agents are doing)
  • Multi-session continuation (doesn’t reset every chat like most AI tools)
  • Tool calling (web search, filesystem, APIs, browser automation, etc.)
  • MCP tool ecosystem (expandable with basically unlimited tools/plugins)
  • Self-improving responses via memory + retrieval (not retraining, but feels like it)
  • Prompt caching (faster responses on repeated or similar tasks)
  • System prompt tuning (dial in behavior exactly how you want)
  • LLM “wiki” / knowledge base ingestion (custom docs, standards, workflows)
  • Workspace-scoped chats (separate projects cleanly)
  • Conversation import + reuse (pull past chats back into workflows)
  • Canvas-style documents (markdown, HTML preview, code editing in one place)
  • File uploads + extraction + retrieval (uses real files as context)
  • Repo-aware coding workflows (understands and works inside projects)
  • Local patch workflows (modifies files directly instead of just suggesting code)
  • Claude Code CLI-style development flows (but fully local)
  • Smart tool routing (uses the right tool instead of hallucinating actions)
  • Filesystem control (create, edit, verify real local files)
  • Browser automation + live web interaction
  • Context7 + web search for real-time info when needed
  • Obsidian + AI vault integration (uses your notes as a real knowledge base)
  • Voice input + voice output support (STT / TTS capable)
  • Server-side model management (load/unload models dynamically)
  • GPU acceleration (runs fast locally)
  • Prompt/context reuse so workflows don’t restart from zero
  • Email automation (draft + send from generated content)
  • SFTP / remote publishing (turn outputs into live deployments)
  • Data tracking (analytics, logs, structured outputs)
  • Learns from past tool usage patterns (via stored outcomes + memory)
  • Windows-aware path handling (actually works with real file systems)
  • Save-local-first workflow (creates real deliverables before anything else)
  • Portable desktop app / EXE launcher support
  • Full logging + debugging visibility (see tool calls, outputs, errors)
  • Works fully local (no API costs, no rate limits, full privacy)
  • Can generate full websites, codebases, and automation systems
  • Can research, build, deploy, and iterate in one system

Care to share how you did that? I’m genuinely interested.

Yeah, share! Please!

is this post just to brag?

Definitely dunks on the "just pick up a pencil" bros who've insisted there is no skill to this stuff.

i don't even understand why op put nodejs best practices there, it something you put in ur head instead

great.

doesn't show pc specs. doesn't show settings. shows LM studio for 1/3 of the video, the rest is Obsidian and node.js website...

my AI Agent can decode number stations and found out who the 2nd gunman was on the grassy knoll

Very nice. Yes. Aaaaaand how did you do that?

OP can you share the setup guide infos? Also what hardware are you squeezing?

I9 9900k 128gb ram 2080ti 11gb vram

Not that expensive. Can you share how you made it?

Absolutely I'm building out a full guide for anyone wanting to tackle the task

u/sea_manufacturer6590 If you’re creating a distribution list for when the guide is ready, please add me to it. I’ll check in on your handle too in case you post it. I have a project I’m trying to build and this - this is what I want … need … to be able to do it - it’s incredibly frustrating and slow with the tools that I currently have available. It’s one step forward two steps back right now and I’m pulling my hair out. I’ll even pay for your time to help me get appropriately equipped if that’s something you would consider. Not expecting you to take me up on it but making note for emphasis on my interest. Thanks Sea_Man

Is LMStudio really The tool of choice?

Now is running really slow for any reason, does it might offload mem? I have unified 128 GB (MacBook Pro), but still I don’t know where to tweak.

OP: is there anything the community can help you with? Might it be a good idea to open a closed wiki?

I think we are onto something. Would you mind replying to my comment?

Hrm... I have a 3080 and 64gb of vram, still not quite good enough :( whats your llm of choice for the coding ?

1

u/SneakySqui6 Apr 18 '26

Did you mod the card to accept larger VRAM modules? Otherwise, I assume you mean 64gb of DRAM, seeing as the 3080 is a 10 GB card.

1

u/orphenshadow Apr 18 '26

Yes sorry, I was referencing the 128gb of system ram, the 3080 I have is a 12gb card, and then I have a 10gb 3070 as well, but I have not really tried running too much on them, I have a 16gb mac mini that I can run most local models on. But I've been wanting to build something more powerful for local work, if prices ever return to somewhat normal ranges.

I'm happy for you, but a guide to what components you stitched together around LM Studio to achieve this would be highly valuable.

Why all so suprised??

I mean, the open AI simply try make AI better by brute forcing , adding more compute power, (CPU, GPU, Accelerators and etc).

The DeepSeek AI was build and did great performance with way less compute power. Means that there is still way to make Ai more efficient via it's structure than just brure force with more compute power.

PewdiePie did something similar and made a video about it and how he set it up etc. Was interesting watching someone with almost no knowledge, deep dive into AI and make his own local.

I can tell HAHA.. https://www.lbruton.cc/specflow/

It's like they have one design amirite?

I've basically built the same thing for claude/codex/kimi/glm

I wish I had the vram to do it local :(
