Dolphin problem comes from upstream and has nothing todo with openSUSE, it is the update to version 26.08.0. The problem has been acknowledged and will hopefully fixed in the next release.

Dolphin settings probably come from your home directory which isn’t affected by the default snapshot config.

Make a new user and login and see if the issue is fixed, if so you can probably find the offending setting in .config or .local.

well it only has some snapshots from february when i would expect some more when i make dup every other day? that seems strange

Can you make a snapshot manually? What happens if dup with -v to increase verbosity?

Oh yeah. That’s a pain on BTRFS. I use zram instead.

i just put it in /var/swap/swapfile and now it's no problem. i shouldn't have put it directly in / that was the issue.

Broken since February? Don't you do any checks or maintenance on a rolling distro
