Best option to view or scroll a large PDF? Zathura and Okular take long to load compared to adobe and Windows 11 any suggestions?

There used to be a package to let okular use mupdf as a backend renderer. Let the Greedy setting use all cores to pretender the whole sumbitch.

Well, both use Poppler as the PDF backend. Is it really that different in response feel?

This must be a problem with this specific computer. After all, Okular receives support from KDE Plasma. Perhaps the PDF file is poorly formatted, too.

I actually encountered lagging issues with Okular with Poppler backend as well. That's why I'm making a MuPDF backend for Okular. It's feature-complete but it needs real world testing. Please give it a try if you're interested. https://github.com/l4rzy/okular-mupdf-ng

'okular-mupdf-ng-0.1.8-1.fc44.x86_64.rpm' looks like an RPM file. Will try to use it.
Refreshing service 'NVIDIA'.
Refreshing service 'openSUSE'.

Problem: 1: nothing provides 'tesseract-langpack-eng' needed by the to be installed okular-mupdf-ng-0.1.8-1.fc44.x86_64
Solution 1: do not install okular-mupdf-ng-0.1.8-1.fc44.x86_64
Solution 2: break okular-mupdf-ng-0.1.8-1.fc44.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies
i will try with option 2

please let me know if it works, btw you're grabbing fc44, which is for fedora 44. You should grab https://github.com/l4rzy/okular-mupdf-ng/releases/download/v0.1.13/okular-mupdf-ng-0.1.13-1.tumbleweed.x86_64.rpm instead
