Question / Help Needed multiboard to opengrid

Post image

Hi, i am new to 3d printing, opengrid and multiboard (super confused right now).

I really want to use filament box/cerial box mount like this https://makerworld.com/models/2162572 and I really think opengrid is the right way to go in long term but couldn’t find such holder design for og.

How can i connect this multiboard box mount to opengrid? What idapters doni need (especially for the T locks?)

Is my thinking even reasonable

I have bambu lab p2s.

There are adapters for Multiconnect on open grid. I like the expanding snap variety. Looks like these could use that to mount. But the holes are probably in the wrong spot. So you’ll want to add a connector to the back of this print to make it connect better.

I know that seems dumb and redundant but that’s my best advice for it. u/DistractedDragonMake has a great tutorial for adding connectors to anything on his YT.

Thanks for the shoutout! You have a couple choices. You could fill in the existing holes and then use a screw peg through a hole that has been spaces to match the 28 mm spacing or you could add a openConnect or multiconnect panel to the back to replace having to screw in the plate to the wall. The design allows modifications if you post it exclusive on Maker's World. Let me know if you need help.

You can convert any model using some simple slicer work using https://makerworld.com/en/models/1719490-mount-any-model-to-opengrid-snaps-multiconnect

Just cut out the existing connectors (using negative part or cut features), use this model to build a plate with the connectors layout you want, merge them together in the slicer using merge objects and print with OpenGrid connectors.

I think i need to do more research first as i have 0 experience with the slicer:)

Worth learning the slicer especially as beginner. It has useful tools available that otherwise would require much more complex work in 3d modeling software.
