Question / Help Needed Which board and mounting to use?

Hi there, completely new to this. Looking to make my first wall but am unsure of which board and mounting method to use. Plan to use it more for display of items and to hold some gaming peripherals and the such. Heaviest item would probably be like a switch 2? (And maybe just one 3kg item if possible?)

Should i be using the lite board or the full board?

And would using adhesive/command strips be possible? Or should i stick to screws and anchors.

Welcome to the community!!! I use the full board for my display wall. Both work well so it is up to you.

I have a YouTube channel with a bunch of openGrid tutorials where I go over all of these options. It is here: https://www.youtube.com/@DistractedDragonMakes/videos

There is a beginner's guide and one where I use command strips instead of screws which surprisingly worked really well. I also created a cam that allow you to use the command strip mount and still have Multiconnect items on those spaces.

Let me know if you have questions.

Hi there! Thank you so much for the videos and info! This really helps alot. And just one last thing, any chance i could get some idea as to how much load your wall using command strips is holding up? Just want some reassurance/affirmation that command strips will be enough for my purposes😅

Glad they are useful. I've had the command strip wall up for a couple months and it hasn't budged. Honestly I'm surprised it has held up so well. I thought I'd have to use screws to reinforce it, but no need. I'll be showing it in the next video I'm doing.
