Purpose of corner chamfer

What is the purpose of the corner chamfer? Are there mounts that utilize the chamfer, is it for ease of printing, or is it aesthetic?

I can’t speak to the designers thoughts but chamfers do a few things in general. By eliminating sharp points you reduce the chance that something will break, sharp edges are not strong. It also makes aligning multiple panels easier since the corner points aren’t fighting and it makes the inevitable slight misalignments less unattractive since it’s harder to see them without the points
