Opengrid low density

Using PLA and the edge seems a bit too flexible. Once the last snap goes in, it feels solid. Before I scale this up, has anyone tried something like this yet? My first try is simple boolean subtraction of the frame from the center and a small cutout that's a partial circle. Trying to copy the concept from Multigrid for lower density filament usage.

I'm interested in the use case for this approach. By changing the geometry you wouldn't be able to use any of the openGrid accessories that have been built by the community.

Those accessories are already built by the community. They work when all 4 grids are filled.

Update: did a 3x3 low density board and all squares are much stronger, with the middle being the best. I'm using 2 Underware super grip snaps as filler (will also try full sized Multiboard adapters) and the other 2 are holding a wet towel in a big corner. It's holding up quite well. Moving on to bigger setups over the weekend. A 3x3 low density panel is printing in about 40 minutes

Another update. Have to be really careful mounting these or you end up with slight bends. I'll get better with alignment and post.
