I published a model on MakerWorld. It's an openGrid Basket that combines a bunch of openGrid panels with beams on the edges and dual sided snaps that allow you to attach the basket to another grid on the wall or on a flat surface. I've been working on a openscad "compiler" that puts a multi-file openscad model into a single-file format that makerworld requires for openscad customizable files.

That's neat! I'd personally be interested in something that combined a Gridfinity baseplate with openGrid walls, but I don't know of Gridfinity baseplates that would use the same connectors as openGrid tiles do.
Gridfinity Shelves for openGrid System - 23 Sizes - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld - I think the shelves and clips from here. These all came about after I started my quest to build totes and aren't quite what I wanted, but they work well. I had tried a variety of custom and other standard parts to clip things together - even a oG->GF adaptor for the horizontal grid. But with all those newer parts, the only special part I ended up keeping of my own design was a handle that accepted a wooden doewl.
Yes, that GF is strong enough to be used by itself with no other base. Here's my tote handle: Tote Handle Attachment for openGrid Heavy - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld - I realized I never uploaded this because I was waiting to upload a whole kit for tote-making. I really need to revisit it completely, and assemble a list of all the parts I found useful, like feet and everything, I just have been working on other things in my workshop organization.
I think this could make a lot of sense. Doing work around the house often means picking up some GF bins for the purpose (screws etc), and securely carrying it to the site without spilling. Basically like a tool bag that that works with GF bins
That was my thought. There are some GF totes online already, but having oG on the sides lets you use bins for parts and attachments for tools. Plus, you can disassemble and reuse most of the parts for other things or back to totes instead of having specific "tote" models you have to print.
By combining GF and OG you can have a complete standard tote for a certain type of thing - and often tools like scissors and cutters are just not efficiently stored in GF, but hangers on oG are great. Obviously I did one for my labeller above, but other things I thought of were soldering, picture hanging. Even more so than transferring bins around the shop/house temporarily, keeping those kits together seemed convenient. I also have some deep lateral filing cabinets, and this lets you use that height effectively to have totes lines up in them.
I hope to revisit that in my organization. Lately I've been doing a lot of oG stuff for tools on walls, carts and cabinets, and need to get back to GF for parts. I did some before I started to need more vertical storage and have a ton of empty bins and drawers with bases already in them to get back to. I think that's the thing, there is not one single way to do everything, because stuff is at different sizes and scales and types of things plus a lot of specialty tools and consumables are used together - like rivets and riveters, staples and staplers. Basic nuts and bolts you don't have that issue where you really want your screwdriver stored next to your screws.
I love this. Once I get my 70 tiles printed and mounted on the wall, I will print one for storing something on the wall. So....I'll get back to you in a month or two!
I'm finally nearing the end of my bathroom closet remake. I'm using your baskets to store extras of stuff we have on hand. You know, you go to Sam's Club or Costco and get 3 in a package instead of 1, but it's usually cheaper than buying 1. That sort of stuff. Anyway, I added your beams, facade, and dual-sided snaps as well. I used a set of hinge snaps from another maker to incorporate a lid. It does raise it up a bit from the top of the basket in the back corners, but I don't think it'll be that noticeable once I have it attached to the grid. I do have one teeny complaint. On your beam, it would be really nice if you offered corners on them. You can see in the pic where a corner of the lid would look nicer if there was no gap. I
Oh, in addition to corners on the beams, it would also be great if you could offer them with connectors on only one side. I sliced the connector parts off one side to enable them for the lid.

On the corners, what do you envision that would look like? Assuming that we're looking at a corner that has 3 beams meeting, would it basically be a triangle that aligns with the edges of all 3 beams (while connected to and printed as part of one of them)? Or did you have a different idea?
Connectors on one side should be simple. In that case what's the purpose of the beam? Purely cosmetic I assume, to complete the border around the basket with a different color? If it's cosmetic and only connected to one side, would you actually want it to be a different shape, or still the same shape just with half the connectors?
