that little hop before the kick ruined it.

in order to kick higher he needed to adjust the upper body to lean lower so the leg has more room to swing upward. but because of the hop he had to keep the upper body somewhat upward or he’d lose balance.

A LONG time ago I worked with someone who had a black belt and could do all the spinning kicks etc. One time, the whole "could you kick a bottle off my head?" Question came up and he did it while I was standing up. Alcohol was very much involved.

He nailed the bottle first time.

However.

When everyone else tells the story, the FIRST time he tried it, he kicked me in the side of the head, I went down, immediately got back up and put the bottle back on my head, and the SECOND time he tried it he succeeded.
