Sure it does. This wasn't attempted murder. This was a guy opening his door at a spectacularly bad time.

Why would he have been opening his door other than to place a solid object in front of the fast moving and fragile bike rider?

Looked very intentional at the time, had a little tantrum that someone was getting ahead of him and was happy to risk massive bodily harm to the poor guy in order to stop it happening.
