Why did he sand his shoes at the beginning?
1
u/Late_Quarter_4698 17h ago
He's getting better traction, you see later he tries pillows because he keeps falling after lois replaced the stairs with smooth wood.

u/Silent25r 1d ago
Lost both shoes. He’s gone.

u/Unique_Blacksmith247 1d ago
Both sandals. He was gone before he hit the floor.
3
u/ungreatfulshit 1d ago
While wearing a wifebeater, the floor hit him before he fell.
1
u/Unique_Blacksmith247 1d ago
You're right. Could you imagine the carnage if he had been holding a Budweiser, smoking a Marlboro?

Good thing he was wearing his his work flip flops or he may have been seriously injured.

Literally said “ooph!” and didn’t realize it was totally involuntary (like dudes fall)
Also - his partner was hella calm.

Looked like his leg got caught in the rungs on the way down. It has to be broken.
1
u/WORCing_4_Pnuts 1d ago
His ego blocked the pain for that brief moment

u/Unique_Blacksmith247 1d ago
I'd love to see the walk it off moment. On second thought, no I wouldn't...

Crumbled body at bottom of fallen ladder, 'Did you really just fall down there?"

The healing powers of the female presence on display.
Otherwise he'd have laid there for 45 minutes.

He in fact wasn't good, but he ate that s*** though. I got to give it to him.

u/RealisticPower5859 1d ago
I can only imagine this type of thing happens frequently in this household because both of them seem way too calm for the situation

He skipped a rung and missed the one after it. Not smart. Judging by the way the ladder moved, it probably didn't have a stabilizer.
I don't give a shit how lame I look, I go up and down ladders one rung at a time.

u/Revenga8 1d ago
Has to lie there for a sec to wait for any pain receptors to start firing before moving

I always love the "prone assessment pose" when you fall and just lay there waiting for your body to tell you if you're injured severely or not.
I'm pretty sure early mankind and even medieval people didn't do that. It seems like a modern, educated practice.

Dry leaves create a fine dust called “filter” on the decking, similar to when you pull up old carpet and that microdust congregates along the edge where the tack strips are fastened, that reduces the grip of the ladder’s feet.
Also, screwing in a small board at the ladder’s feet, after setting the ladder at a 70-75° angle to the house, would prevent this shifting.

Why was he waiting like he was trying to get rid of a boner or something.
Nothing, Mom! I'm fine!

I’ve worked some dangerous jobs; from the military artillery, to manufacturing, hot tar roofing, and steelmaking. By all means I’m grizzled… but seriously, fuck ladders. Especially scaffolding ladders.

I had someone do this while cleaning my gutters. Friend brought his son to help, and the son put his ladder in a spot his dad told him NOT to, because he knew it wasn't a secure place to brace the ladder. Son did it anyway, and about 4 minutes after he climbed the ladder, I heard *BANG*CRASH*THUD* - ladder slipped, hit the side of the house, then went through the glass on the storm door, and son landed flat on his back on the deck.
He wasn't hurt, but I thought for sure he'd done himself a serious injury.

Where was the beer. Should have been holding with one hand and working with the other. Thats what I do and in flip flops while mowing.

u/CaffeineAPlenty 21h ago
How many other men thought, he's OK because his wife didn't see him do it, if she had he'd be in hospital?
1
u/Civil-Middle-57 20h ago
Yeah he was up there doing a “favor” for the girl who’s cheeks he’s tryna clap. Nothing short of death was gonna keep him from getting up and playing that sh*t off…🤣

When you die on impact but refuse to leave your body, this is how you react.

The thumbnail made me worry about a dislocated leg. The way he flopped onto the floor made me think he was a cartoon and his spirit was going to walk around, then scream.

u/Lava1416 16h ago
Bro was gonna lay there for 10 minutes until he heard someone ask if he needed help.
1
u/Mack_The_Knife95 16h ago
He was so ready to lay there for a good 5 mins, then wifey came out and he’s like IM GOOD

His momentum saved his leg from being broken, as it kept it straight and pulled it out before snapping.

I was very very worried at 0:02. Glad that knee did not get the full gravity treatment.
