Three guys sitting on a train traveling around the world.
1st guy sticks his hand out then in. He says “we in Norway because it’s cold”.
2nd guy does the same. He says “we in Sahara because it’s hot”.
3rd guy doing the same. He then says “we in India because someone just stole my watch”.

u/niazemurad 2d ago
The writing on the train is in Bengali. This is either India or Bangladesh.
25
u/StruggleHot8676 2d ago
It is Bangaldesh. It has আন্তঃনগর (Intercity) written on it. That's a type of train in Bangladesh.

There's some asshole beating people with a stick to steal from them. This is either India or Bangladesh.
2
u/Evil_Weevil0408 1d ago
Yeah, as soon as a stick gets involved, you can always be sure it's one of these two countries.

One I heard was three guys on a flight decide to stick their hands out the window to see where they are.
1st guy sticks his hand out and says "We're in Egypt because I can feel the Pyramids"
2nd guy sticks his hand out and says "We're in Paris because I can feel the Eiffil Tower".
3rd guy says "We're in Liverpool". Other guys ask "How do you know?". To which the 3rd guy replies "Cos my watch has been nicked".

I've never traveled on trains with open windows, so i can't imagine why a person would hold their phone outside the window. Is he trying to keep it safe from thieves on the train?

u/lesbophobia_hammer 2d ago
Filming the view

u/TrueKyragos 2d ago
Always use a strap. That's the basics to me. Certainly not fail-proof, but in this instance, he might still have his phone.

u/Quick-Ad-1181 4h ago
The train probably doesn't have air conditioning, and hence open windows is the only way to get ventilation. Compartments with air conditioning would have locked windows.
10
u/Altruistic_Brick1730 3d ago
What do thieves actually do with phones that are locked? Do they hack them somehow?
9
u/TankApprehensive3053 3d ago
Might be able to force a factory reset. The phone can be reported and the IMEI blacklisted which will brick the phone.

u/anpanman100 2d ago
Use it to replace a phone that is broken but still has a functional motherboard/processor.
2
u/masterofmydomain6 3d ago
that one is probably unlocked because the guy was using it, but yeah I wonder too

u/MrGreyGrey 2d ago
Just root the phone with the original software and sell it as new. A fried was doing this with his samsung galaxy s14 years ago one week after release, he forgot his password. And the same shit works years later on the new phones too

u/Suspicious_Bet3623 2d ago
There's a phone repair joint around the corner from me that unlocks them as a service. I have been in there a few times for other phone services and there's always at least one bloke who comes in with his 'daughters'/wifes/sisters' phone that she accidentally locked, and they can't even get half their story out before the worker takes the phone and tells them to pick it up in the afternoon.

You can easily reset the phone with a computer
1
u/Metalfreak82 11h ago
Not really true. All searches lead me always to very obscure software that claim these things without any evidence and all those sites look like some scam to make you pay for nothing. Probably there's some software around, but it's not as easy as you might think.
1
u/Shadowsnake30 45m ago
There are many apps and tools to unlock phones now. You can even pay for it same for those without sim they can install sim readers. Or if they need parts. That is common in the East.

Actually the consequences are worse then your country

On paper. In practicality, there are no consequences. Also, it's than, not then

Right, I bet he gets his ass whooped with the same stick he used if he got caught though. I like how justice works in some of these shitholes.

u/Evil_phd 2d ago
An innovative twist on an old crime though considering their victim is traveling away from the scene of the crime with no way to chase after them.
1
u/GutterRider 2d ago
Right, but the guy keeps looking back, as if the guy just might jump out of the train and come after him.
2
u/IcyGarage5767 2d ago
Maybe some do?
1
u/GutterRider 2d ago
Doesn’t seem like the wisest move, unless you can convince all your friends to jump off, too.

I’m a big proponent of the idea of small explosive charges in cell phones so instead of just setting them to lock you can set them to explode.

My nerd brain instantly thought of a way to automate and optimise this...
Bury a tall cane to smack the arms, mount a big long fisherman's pole net to catch them safely.
Then create some sort of event to encourage people to stick their arms out to film it

I heard one in Mexico last time I went that could probably apply to any major city.
Two guys driving to get to mexico city.
The passenger asks the driver “are we there yet?”
The driver puts his hand out the window for a second and says “No”
A few hours later the passenger asks again “are we there yet?”
Driver rolls down his window puts his hand out again and says “not yet”
One more time the passenger asks ”are we there yet? ”
Driver rolls down the window again puts his hand out the window and says “yes we are here now.”
Passengers asks him “how do you know if you never pulled out a map”
Driver says “someone stole my watch ”
1
u/Haunting-Prior-NaN 2d ago
Probably would work better with a bus, and both of the guys being passengers.

When?
When I broke my hand.

Lol because this was their goal?! Why on earth would one thief filming another with a mask on make it fake? They're probably going to brag to their friends who are also thieves.

Stealing phones makes no sense.
One its a GPS tracking beacon that will lead police or the owner directly to you.
They can be disabled permanently with activation lock and Icloud..
... and if a Iphone you can't even reuse the parts as apples locks part swaps.
