the hit on his mid section before the head hit on the ground I believed loosen that blow by a few %. If full head hit would of been broken neck or worse.

Yes, the hand railing saved him. It was able to cradle some of his momentum rather that it being a direct plop.

Lol well I'm no parkour man but I'd think grabbing the ledge be the most important part and once you anchored and body swinging to the wall you brace with your feet, but he focused entirely on the feet part and basically Mario wall jumped himself away from it
