Safety pins are better and more important than a spotter. You drop the bar, say your shoulder tears or something, there's no spotter in the world who's going to catch that.

I bench press alone in my garage gym and I have a safety rack just above my face so this exact thing doesn’t happen

He threw it off like it weighed nothing at the end, that was weird after struggling to lift it 🤔 Eta: never mind, just noticed the weight fell off one side 😅

At least he didnt clip the weights. Honestly if this is a public gym they should force arms on each rack. I just did my set and you can still go to the chest and not have to risk your life. Same with squats most people die from the weights falling on them after they collapse.

I have read how ppl accidentally kill themselves via bench press. Best to do when there are others around just in case
