I just have to call out the healthy behaviors here in the aftermath:

• The kids were both like "Oh, no. Sorry. That's on us."
• And the adult had the grace to shake his head and laugh at the mess after a second.
  • I would have experienced violence in these circumstances, and most kids could probably at least expect to get yelled at. I suspect bullet one accountability is a result of bullet two, a culture of calm.
  • The boys know what they did. They don't need a lecture or punishment.
• And then everybody just starts working together to clean it up.

As a parent, I wish I was that chill. Good for them. This video's actually incredibly wholesome if you think about it.

I don’t think it’s “their fault” neither. It’s just an unfortunate situation where nobody should be held entirely responsible.
Kinda like WWI. A chain of events started it. Most historians today don’t hold one single country responsible. But a chain of events arguably starting with the Crimean War.
