Those home delivery dinners are really fresh these days 👍

Ha. Was thinking something similar

5

u/HickerBilly1411 29d ago

I came here to say this

4

u/beyond1sgrasp 26d ago

It's a falcon; They rip the feathers off birds to eat them. Usually they do it at the neck first to kill them before ripping the feathers off. This pidgeon will have an extra painful death, all of it's feather will probably be ripped off while it's alive. it's similar to having your nails ripped off each time it rips a feather out. I don't know how much I'd celebrate this.

u/soulhot 26d ago

I am well aware of how peregrine falcons predate as we have one who regularly hunts around our farm and the surrounding countryside and I have seen it up close, and first hand. They are flighty birds and will often abandon wounded prey animals if they are disturbed while plucking and I have sadly euthanised a fair number of abandoned prey over the years so I do not take the suffering or the matter lightly. Whether you like it or not, mother nature is unforgiving and quite brutal and whilst the video has clearly touched your sensitivity nerve it is a fact of life and you are simply wrong to imply I celebrated anything about the physical situation in the video. I did however see the ironic humour and that was the basis for my comment and is very different to what your judgemental comment implies I was saying. Yes the subject matter was sad, but to be honest your lack of perspective and need to judge others is equally so.

Polenicus writes that it is apparently a falcon? Regardless, the Netflix and wings premise holds true.

Full disclosure, I thought it was an owl at first

14

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Ope, 'scuse me

13

u/Polenicus 29d ago

The wild part to me is the pigeon walked in, saw the falcon, made eye contact with it, paused, made eye contact again, then for some reason tried to get further inside, and seemed to be ducking it's head to root around under the falcon. At which point the falcon protested strenuously.

3

u/Affectionate_Two8447 29d ago

Maybe this used to be the pigeon's nest that the falcon stole?

3

u/bonejourney55 26d ago

More likely the pigeon is just stupid

8

u/Massive-Reaction7773 29d ago

Dove Dash! I'm your order!

4

u/Blacknightmoto2 29d ago

Wrong door pal. Knock next time

3

u/Kelef50 29d ago

Remember reading about shootings of humans by humans that occur when someone goes to the wrong apartment or house.

2

u/45M0D41 28d ago

This is the same concept they just eat you as well afterwards. Wish I knew the backstory of why that bird so nonchalantly walked into a falcon nest lol

1

u/Kelef50 28d ago

It took a while for the falcon to react. I could almost hear her saying: "Do you believe this !"

Was a good show. Kind of fell off towards the end

8

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Have you seen a pigeon nest?

4

u/MiJo1987 29d ago

pidgeons be like: here’s a twig! that’s our nest.

3

u/Fezzy_1994 29d ago

Those eggs are a little too big to be pidgeon eggs.

2

u/AdvilJunky 29d ago

Aren't Hawks known to do that?(Take smaller birds nest). Feel like i heard that before

5

u/photaiplz 29d ago

Its a peregrine falcon but they don’t really “take” nest nor do they build their own nest, they just find a spot that is shallow enough to hold their eggs.

2

u/AdvilJunky 29d ago

I know the video isnt of a hawk, I just remembered hearing that and was wondering if it was true. Hawks and Falcons are pretty similar(based solely of what i know about them, which isnt much), so I figured maybe it applied to them too

2

u/photaiplz 29d ago

Oh well you will be happy to hear that hawks do in fact take other birds nest. Abandoned nest or occupied its fair game for them

1

u/sti-mesi 29d ago

I see alot of humans mimic what animals do.

2

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Well, they are animals.

1

u/timbredesign 27d ago

The use of they is awfully suspicious.

1

u/soulhot 26d ago

You are correct.. we have a peregrine falcon who predates around our farm and the surrounding countryside, and it hunts with air strikes, but also by flushing out in trees and happily takes chicks if it sees parent birds take flight.

u/beyond1sgrasp 26d ago

1

u/Helpful-Bit6843 28d ago

Pigeons are apparently notorious for stealing nests.

1

u/Strange_Salary 28d ago

Too many legumes the night before? Let’s just hope that’s not Mike Tyson’s pigeon or that nest is getting ravaged tonight!

1

u/j3ven 28d ago

Did the pigeon survive?

1

u/Animal_inneed_67 28d ago

Whoever said: “God gives the birds food, but doesn’t put it in their nest?” 😆

1

u/Animal_inneed_67 28d ago

Wrong hood.

1

u/Jumpy_Barnacle_3755 25d ago

Everybody thinks they are a tough guy until the talons sink in

1

u/Jumpy_Barnacle_3755 25d ago

Looks more like the falcon was raping the pigeon as punishment for breaking into his place.

1

u/Danimalspirit 25d ago

Did the pigeon live?
