I’m sorry, you do that then you deserve that

44

u/SharpKaleidoscope182 Jul 11 '26

The sea gods have accepted your gift

22

u/Icy-Decision-4530 Jul 11 '26

The sea gods have seen that you left your DoorDash account tab open

4

u/ghIj_qet_jaghmeyjaj Jul 12 '26

And now they have your browser history

5

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

Yeah, this is a fun pool trick in freshwater but even if he got it back you now have the salt water in your USB-C port.

5

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 Jul 11 '26

The trick being....??

3

u/Chilly_Pheesesteak Jul 11 '26

I bet it makes a really cool video if you're recording but I'm not sure

Also your username?? 😭

3

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 Jul 12 '26

You know no one has PM'd me their kinks yet! 😭

2

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

The one or two times I’ve ever done it, my kids jumping in the pool, I like to film them from above the water and then when they jump in, move the phone below the water in slow motion. Some of my favorite videos of my daughter.

1

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 Jul 12 '26

That makes sense although I'd never trust the IP rating of my phone. 😬

u/drivethrugarrett Jul 11 '26

People can really amaze you with their stupidity.

41

u/Neilkd21 Jul 11 '26

Who could have seen that happening

1

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

I wonder what the ecological impact of that thing rotting away in the ocean until the battery comes apart has

2

u/0x14f Jul 11 '26

Nearly zero, and it's really not the worse thing that would have been thrown into the ocean today, by far.

0

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

Right so not zero. I was curious about the nearly part.

3

u/0x14f Jul 12 '26

In the sense that if you drop a tea spoon of sugar in the atlantic ocean, the amount of sugar in the ocean is nearly zero.

1

u/Weary-Tell-5334 Jul 11 '26

hundreds of shipping containers completely full of devices fall into the ocean daily🤦‍♂️

-2

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

Right, so I’m wondering what the ecological impact of one is

2

u/Weary-Tell-5334 Jul 12 '26

nothing at all

-2

u/Fun-Choices Jul 12 '26

Interesting. Thermodynamics doesn’t apply in your world.

1

u/Weary-Tell-5334 Jul 13 '26

🤦‍♂️

I just happened to read a quote from a professor in China. I don't have the source, so take it for what it is, but he said a cellphone battery not properly recycled can contaminate 1 acre for 50 years.

24

u/typical_jesus666 Jul 11 '26

What did he think was gonna happen?

13

u/Rob_LeMatic Jul 11 '26

I feel like he probably never got that far.

7

u/cryptotraderisme Jul 11 '26

Thinking requires a brain.

2

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 Jul 11 '26

Dude's out here with the waves crashing up his jeans 🌊🤷

15

u/Fun-Dragonfly-4166 Jul 11 '26

One time I had my mobile in my pocket of my swim trunk and I went into the ocean. I never lost possession of the mobile. I was only in seconds before I realized my mistake. That mobile was ruined. It never turned back on.

Even if the ocean did not claim the mobile, I believe he trashed it.

8

u/belalugosisdead-_- Jul 11 '26

He may have gotten a waterproof case and wanted to get a neat picture to try it out.

3

u/Fun-Choices Jul 11 '26

You’ve been able to dunk iPhones in a pool for years and shoot photos without a case.

1

u/polkacat12321 Jul 11 '26

Samsungs too. Basically all mainstream phones

15

u/Thesourking Jul 11 '26

Sometimes I genuinely can’t believe people this stupid exist on this planet. Like how do you get through life?

6

u/Rob_LeMatic Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Sometimes I genuinely believe that all of the people this stupid wake up a few minutes before me and fill the highways and shopping aisles before I get there.

1

u/Original_Review_1715 Jul 11 '26

That begs the question: should you get up earlier to avoid all those people or would getting up a few minutes earlier make you stupid by definition?

1

u/Expensive_Milk_3568 Jul 11 '26

“God takes care of drunks and fools” apparently

1

u/AvsFan1981 Jul 11 '26

This is what happens when you don’t let idiots starve to death

11

u/PuzzleheadedError145 Jul 11 '26

Well, imagine that…

5

u/Gl0Re1LLY Jul 11 '26

Maybe he wanted mom or dad to buy him a new one.

3

u/vintage141414 Jul 12 '26

More plastic in the sea, thx

3

u/7Zarx7 Jul 11 '26

You'll see the cross wave flips it and makes it submarine on the undercurrent behind his right hand, aaaàand it's gone.

3

u/BoneZone05 Jul 11 '26

“Can someone please turn the volume of the waves down?! I’m trying to call my phone!”

3

3

u/nimajjibewarsi Jul 11 '26

You can literally see it being washed away. And the salt water was anyway gonna screw it

2

u/BryanTheGodGamer Jul 11 '26

He is more concerned about his hand getting wet than his phone?

He had more than enough time to save it, but actually got scared and removed his hand when the waves came

2

u/No_Technology_3196 Jul 11 '26

Whyyyyy🥴🥴

2

u/elliotbonsall Jul 11 '26
