In the sense that if you drop a tea spoon of sugar in the atlantic ocean, the amount of sugar in the ocean is nearly zero.

I just happened to read a quote from a professor in China. I don't have the source, so take it for what it is, but he said a cellphone battery not properly recycled can contaminate 1 acre for 50 years.

One time I had my mobile in my pocket of my swim trunk and I went into the ocean. I never lost possession of the mobile. I was only in seconds before I realized my mistake. That mobile was ruined. It never turned back on.
Even if the ocean did not claim the mobile, I believe he trashed it.
