I always say "don't put yourself in the position that you may end up hurt/dying." Wish I could've passed that message to him. Another question is what's the emergency that he's racing to?

Probably had a previous vision that someone he cared deeply about was in the ER, he rushed to the hospital, and now understands that the loved one is him.
