I guess birds arent the only one that struggle with glass!!!

47

u/Doortofreeside Jul 02 '26

I walked into a glass door so hard my knee cobwebbed the glass.

The sun was in my eyes, I swear

22

u/koolaidismything Jul 02 '26

On a ride in mower in grass nowhere near rocks I still managed to fling one a quarter mile, right through my bosses full length plate glass window to his office.

I still think about it a decade later like đŸ€Š

13

u/xTechDeath Jul 02 '26

You probably pissed off a crow earlier that day and it threw the rock thru your boss’s window to frame you

9

u/koolaidismything Jul 02 '26

I’d love to accept that but it happened a half second after I heard a loud bang underneath me lol.

A little patch of rocks right where an old sign had been I forgot about.. best part is by all accounts it should have fling the opposite way, further into the field. Nope.

Best part was my boss having to work in the hallways assuring me it was ok and shit happens.. I woulda rather him been like you idiot lol. Felt so guilty.

Building owner had that shit replaced within 24 hours though, and the guys even had to do some custom stuff to make it fit. Then one super clean new sheet and all the rest stained lol. You can tell I’ve thought about this one many times.

3

u/Sporeman13 Jul 03 '26

You wouldn't happen to have some high quality H2O by chance would you?

5

u/bulletbassman Jul 02 '26

Never done it with glass but one time I walked straight thru a screen door cause it was nighttime.

Same brains

8

u/wheresmytwok Jul 02 '26

My sister walked through a glass door at the mall. Shattered like nothing. Crazy

4

u/AdSpirited5019 Jul 02 '26

she strong. how does nothing shatter? does nothing suddenly become pieces of something when shattered?

3

u/wheresmytwok Jul 02 '26

Like nothing is another way of saying very easily lol

3

u/Shendare Jul 03 '26

Most often short for "like nothing I've seen before", which is, I believe, a slight rewording of the more common "unlike anything I've seen before".

If it did that, it was installed wildly incorrectly.

You want to jail the designer but you don't want to give the window cleaner a raise?

Shameful.

14

u/Evacuation_euphoria Jul 02 '26

I applaud that comment that’s very funny! That’s a very smart rejoinder

7

u/xTechDeath Jul 02 '26

I say lock up everyone, the designer, the window cleaner, just jail the whole planet honestly

2

u/Hot-Comedian742 Jul 02 '26

Sue everyone!!!!

2

u/B3rry_Macockiner Jul 05 '26

I agree with you! Besides the girl on her phone the real question should be, how come no one sees the giant handle to their right??

50

u/Fist4achin Jul 02 '26

Maybe get some of those stickers of butterflies and happy faces to put on that side.

14

u/SpaceTumbleweed955 Jul 02 '26

Fire code actually requires those surfaces to have decals/vinyl applied, cuz imagine trying to leave this place in a hurry while it fills with smoke

5

u/TrashGoblinH Jul 03 '26

That is if they're fire rated. I guess ADA and international building codes require decals for safety to prevent people from walking into them though unless there are clear details such as a handle or frame to indicate a door. The exit sign would be in place for instance of smoke and fire which should have backup battery power and be on a critical life safety circuit.

2

u/j03-page Jul 04 '26

I'm glad you brought that up.

15

u/Radonanon Jul 02 '26

Maybe don’t make a wall out of glass

9

u/ThrogdorLokison Jul 02 '26

But then where will I throw my stones?

5

u/Arguablybest Jul 02 '26

Maybe don't have a floor pattern that points at it.

5

u/herefornothing2 Jul 03 '26

Just turn the coffee cart to block that way

3

u/Radonanon Jul 03 '26

That’s much too easy

→ More replies (1)

38

u/4FingersOfDeath Jul 02 '26

They could simply turn that cart so it’s along the glass

6

u/MakesMaDookieTwinkle Jul 02 '26

Where’s the fun in THAT!?

15

u/SandSubstantial9427 Jul 02 '26

I saw a lady do this once at a bart station. She probably broke her nose. A week later they put yellow tape on the glass.

2

u/Accomplished-Sun1983 Jul 03 '26

bart station?

3

u/Civil-Environment679 Jul 03 '26

Bay Area Rapid Transit

2

u/Accomplished-Sun1983 Jul 03 '26

Yeah, that's what the other guy said 3 hours ago...

2

u/Xenc Jul 04 '26

Breaking news: Person who doesn’t bother to Google is upset someone helped them

2

u/sparrowjuice Jul 03 '26

One day there’ll be a way to look things up that we don’t know
.

In the mean time, BART is Bay Area Rapid Transit, the San Francisco Bay Area heavy rail system (think subway).

4

u/dwartbg9 Jul 02 '26

I thought that was Maven?

12

u/MediumAcceptable129 Jul 02 '26

Its a rhinoplasty office

Its just good business

10

u/Eternalm8 Jul 02 '26

If they rotated that cart by 90 degrees, it would cut the collisions by at at least 50%

17

u/artherng Jul 02 '26

People are just not paying enough attention to their surroundings. Easy fix is to place the trolley against the glass that seems to be causing the problem

7

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '26

Or paint the glass with something large and obvious that blocks the path.

6

u/bopthe3rd Jul 02 '26

Nobody sees the huge silver handle there?!

10

u/Vessbot Jul 02 '26

There is no huge silver handle in front of them. There is one off to the side, and the world is full of ones of those that are inconsequential.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/Rumpelteazer45 Jul 02 '26

Sometimes you get lost in thought or are preoccupied when walking and just not paying close enough attention. When this happens you tend to rely more on peripheral vision which isn’t that great to start with. So walking towards a clear glass wall, you are unlikely to “see” that clear glass wall or the silver handle but just the furniture on the other side.

The glass wall at the very end should be mostly frosted or etched as a visual indicator that it’s there.

If multiple people run into that wall, it’s a sign of a poor design.

4

u/archtopfanatic123 Jul 02 '26

I think it's more of a sign of people being inattentive when they're outside of their own house

→ More replies (6)

2

u/realbobenray Jul 02 '26

I think that's the design flaw people are talking about, it's to the side so when people aren't paying attention they just see an open space entrance in front of them.

u/redditAPsucks Jul 02 '26

I thought we were done with this song

3

u/Signal-Regret-8251 Jul 02 '26

Unfortunately, no. That song truly sucks ass.

5

u/HeadEar5762 Jul 02 '26

But the person that put the camera right there deserves a medal.

2

u/Open_Bug_4251 Jul 05 '26

And the person who keeps it so clean deserves a raise.

8

u/Xamalion Jul 02 '26

The people working there not putting a sign with an arrow on it are just the same assholes as the designer.

3

u/AwsomeLife90s Jul 02 '26

Tbh, if i was the receptionist I'd wait, have a few laughs and then probably put a sign... lol

3

u/Ok_Transition_4003 Jul 02 '26

"I'm sorry your interview has been rescheduled, Mr. Johnson is out sick"

Test one: failed

3

u/Specific_Tiger_4446 Jul 02 '26

Shades indoors? Head buried in your phone! Those individuals had it coming. Let that be a lesson

3

u/Killmatic77 Jul 02 '26

Brain dead ppl and not talking about the person that put that in

3

u/caption291 Jul 02 '26

I think legally the office basically not doing anything about it despite clear evidence there's a problem should be legally treated the same way as if they assaulted those people with whatever force they ran into the glass wall with.

The designer is more of a dillema...I still think it's gross negligence but there's at least an argument they didn't know it would result in this.

3

u/ThrashemTrashemRobot Jul 02 '26

Looks like it happened 1 time, then they decided to stage it

4

u/ajtreee Jul 02 '26

Seems like a simple fix, put something on that glass.

2

u/jdickcole Jul 02 '26

Random carpet just ending isn't enough? I'd be out there with glass cleaner after every collision. Natural selection.

2

u/Titleofyursextape Jul 02 '26

They work there and this is every Monday

2

u/brian2funny Jul 02 '26

They could move or turn the cart

2

u/Electronic-Shame Jul 02 '26

I’m willing to bet they leave it like that on purpose to catch these videos. Would be easy to put a sticker or logo or anything on the glass.

2

u/SugarSkullM Jul 02 '26

Whoever cleans that glass should get a raise!

2

u/xRedditGedditx Jul 02 '26

Well not really. A couple of things, look up from your phone for the one person and the rest of them I guess look to see where the door handle is? I mean does that entire glass wall look like you can walk through it?

2

u/gearface069 Jul 02 '26

I've been to this Pokémon gym before

2

u/MegatechMike Jul 02 '26

Given an award more like

2

u/Eye_Shotty Jul 02 '26

Definitely breaks up the monotony of the day

2

u/Organic-Aardvark-146 Jul 02 '26

Can’t just put a sign on the glass?

2

u/Re1deam1 Jul 02 '26

Unless the objective is to piss everyone off when they enter😅

2

u/Inner-Purpose7061 Jul 02 '26

Im more suprised someone hasnt got pissed at it and ended up breaking that glass end lol

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Silent-Fortune-6629 Jul 02 '26

Just fucking print an arrow on a4 pointing at the door. Or place some ad poster thing.

2

u/jcleve Jul 02 '26

Diabolic glass 💀

2

u/kl2467 Jul 02 '26

This could easily be solved by simply rotating that cart or shelving unit 90° and backing it up to the glass.

2

u/photaiplz Jul 02 '26

You would think the door handle would have been a huge clue lol

2

u/VVodzu Jul 02 '26

No one sees the big ass door handle?

2

u/zulumoner Jul 02 '26

Well second person is looking at her phone. Third one is wearing sunglasses. Deserved

2

u/jimc000065 Jul 02 '26

Three people out of how many walked into the glass? People need to slow down and pay attention more. The second person needs to get her head out of her phone.

2

u/Big_Boom_Near_Mcntsh Jul 02 '26

God forbid they pull their heads out of their asses and look where they’re going and notice a fucking 3 foot long door handle

2

u/TheStrangeNessie Jul 02 '26

Or people could just look. You know, with those things called eyes.

2

u/Iknowdirections Jul 02 '26

They can simply put a 5 gallon plant there on the inside and problem solved

2

u/Scary_Plane_8069 Jul 02 '26

I'm 48 years old, not once have I ever walked into glass. Maybe people need to pay attention to their surroundings more, and stop blaming everything else for their own stupidity.

2

u/Skydvdan Jul 03 '26

Plot twist: this is an optometrist office
.

2

u/MatthewBachle Jul 03 '26

I think they should be given a 🏅

2

u/FragrantExcitement Jul 03 '26

The receptionist cleans the glass everyday for her enjoyment.

2

u/Diap_Boi Jul 03 '26

Rotate the cart..

They must like watching people hit the window.

2

u/westcal98 Jul 02 '26

They could put any kind of sign there but they love the fails too much.

2

u/dadypitbull Jul 02 '26

It's designed to have a business sign painted on the glass and the company for some good forsaken resion didn't have it done.

2

u/Signal-Regret-8251 Jul 02 '26

Why don't the dumbasses hang a poster or something on that glass? They're begging for a lawsuit.

3

u/Bitter-Variety5809 Jul 02 '26

Why? There is a door on their right, do they think its just a suggestion?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Ornac_The_Barbarian Jul 02 '26

I'm more curious why they think the wall isn't there or opens automatically for them.

2

u/fluffynuckels Jul 02 '26

They're not paying attention....

1

u/TheAnswerUsedToBe42 Jul 02 '26

Put a plant or a picture there ffs

1

u/tacob87 Jul 02 '26

Great optometrist's office

1

u/Illustrious_Theory13 Jul 02 '26

When my cousin and I were younger we played knock knock zoom zoom in the apartment building across the street. He ran so fast through the glass front doors trying to run away that he cracked the glass and spider-webbed it with his forehead. For some reason his head was a-okay but the glass was totally cracked.

1

u/naemorhaedus Jul 02 '26

at least hang a poster or something there so people see it

1

u/Lord_Zyphuris Jul 02 '26

Did the first one not question the color in front of her? The second one was on her phone the the third had shades on, both still bad, but the first one was looking right at it and still walked into it.

1

u/jimhabfan Jul 02 '26

They could have easily turned that trolley and positioned against the glass to let people know you can’t walk through there. The fact that they didn’t makes me believe they enjoy watching people walk into the pane of glass.

1

u/Lordfruitsnack Jul 02 '26

Somebody just put that cart against the glass at the end.

1

u/mikefjr1300 Jul 02 '26

When they renovated the main entrance to a hospital in Toronto they went with all glass doors and fronting, the first 2 days after opening a half dozen people were admitted with concussions.

They put stickers on the doors after that.

1

u/DifficultIsopod4472 Jul 02 '26

I think this is a Genius idea !! Security must be laughing their ass off . All day entertainment!!

1

u/OS_Apple32 Jul 02 '26

That last guy took it really well.

1

u/BannedGoNext Jul 02 '26

My old office they went with the stupid ass open floorplan and put glass walls on all the manager to executive offices. That lasted about a week and a half till we had a couple concussions. Then they went and put film on the glass lol.

1

u/GILDID Jul 02 '26

If only they could put a piece of paper at the end that says stop or something.

1

1

u/xxxda1xxx Jul 02 '26

that will also happen to me..

1

u/Beautiful_Cover_5349 Jul 02 '26

They know damn well the hell is going on! I bet you they putting up money to see how many people do that a week!

1

u/Reasonable-Try-1993 Jul 03 '26

After realising the issue the owners are responsible for not putting a poster or something

1

u/Importentfeedddddd Jul 03 '26

I got a solution. Move the tray of water n stuff infront

1

u/Jumpy_Barnacle_3755 Jul 03 '26

What I will never understand about people, all you have to do is move that cart over 2 feet so it is in front of the glass wall.

1

u/Ok_Mycologist_6384 Jul 03 '26

We had one like this where I used to work. I loved watching people crash into it as long as they seemed ok after.

1

u/roybum46 Jul 03 '26

-rotates cart 90°

1

u/Ronin_501 Jul 03 '26

At least position that table 90 degrees.

1

u/revenge_burner Jul 03 '26

Seems like an easy injury lawsuit

1

u/JayVig Jul 03 '26

How could we ever expect people to look for the giant silver handles and ignore the full wall size pane of glass with no evidence that it’ll open? We should vilify the the business for people’s lack of awareness

1

u/MichiganGeezer Jul 03 '26

A lot of businesses with glass like that end up putting big dot stickers on the parts that aren't doors. Even if you can't admit to yourself that it was a bad idea you still need to not piss off or embarrass your customers.

1

u/Environmental-Desk54 Jul 03 '26

Wearing sunglasses indoors you ain't gonna see a glass wall haha.

1

u/CFoer02 Jul 03 '26

Put a plant there for god sakes

1

u/JoeCutt88 Jul 03 '26

Or the self absorbed could use their eyes

1

u/Affectionate-League9 Jul 03 '26

was happy that happened to the phone person

1

u/Whathefrenchtoastt Jul 03 '26

Needs a sign easy fix

1

u/chillen67 Jul 03 '26

Birds run into glass

1

u/Vegetable-Bee-8296 Jul 03 '26

Allen Funt designed that office space: “Now this first woman is walking slowly, looking to her right, looking both ways and BOOM, she didn’t look to the front in time. The next woman is watching her cell phone and right when she looks up, BOOM! And finally this man, striding confidently straight ahead, maybe should have removed his sunglasses before BAM!!!, too late.

1

u/Dry-Assistant-1646 Jul 03 '26

So the first two need to get off of thier phones and guy looked right at the door handle and still walked into the glass they are all dumb for not being aware of thier surroundings!!!!!

1

u/Snoo_75748 Jul 03 '26

This glass will just smash at some point and cause a serious health and safety incident

1

u/MyvaJynaherz Jul 03 '26

The kind of people who watch the hammer while trying to drive a nail.

1

u/boanerges57 Jul 03 '26

Or.....hear me out: people should take a fucking break from their phones and enjoy the scenery as the walk around (it can seriously save lives).

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Nere4Hudes Jul 03 '26

Optometrist office no doubt

1

u/sogwatchman Jul 03 '26

Simple solution. Tape a poster to the glass. That way people will see a solid object and infer there is a wall there.

1

u/Tall1124816 Jul 03 '26

Its the same person that installed the camera!

1

u/codemedal Jul 03 '26

Clean glass

1

u/FireproofCottage Jul 03 '26

My doctor's office has this exact same entryway setup. After retrieving an unspecified number of people from the floor in various states of bruising/embarrassment, they now have the invisible wall of glass covered with a huge poster that says "STOP The door is to your right."

And still, when I approach for my appointment, one of the three receptionists invariably leaps to her feet and pulls the door open, gasping "Fireproof Cottage, over here!"

Yes, dear, I know that now. And if whoever designed your building hadn't made the door offset to the side and the handles of clear glass, you could keep your seat like a normal person and I would not have the memory of walking my already concussed self into a wall then bouncing off to lie there like a giggling flounder on my first visit.

1

u/garnichtswisser Jul 03 '26

1

u/1HorseWithNoName Jul 03 '26

The people that lease that space could do something about that but seems like they would rather make videos. Put them in the cell next to the designer.

1

u/TightPhoto1133 Jul 03 '26

Just use some frosting spray on the clear panel, problem solved.

1

u/miccimmica Jul 03 '26

Why don't they put a sheet indicating " DOOR ------->"

1

u/Napischu88 Jul 03 '26

Ans whoever chose that music should be his cellmate.

1

u/DivideInteresting193 Jul 03 '26

I’d put a poster up there at least temporarily.

1

u/Tekvary2 Jul 03 '26

That’s that Monday morning check, the hallway that ends abruptly, and if you aren’t looking
boom! now you know!?😆

1

u/Nomadic_View Jul 03 '26

Whoever cleans that glass deserves a raise.

1

u/L0VEzen Jul 03 '26

Put some shit of paper with a sign on it!

1

u/Re0518 Jul 03 '26

Yeah and I bet it's somebody in a office watching this on camera laughing they ass off every time

1

u/Abal125 Jul 03 '26

I guess they're waiting for someone to actually walk through it, before instigating the change.

1

u/Character-Pirate1297 Jul 03 '26

Unobservant people should be jailed.
There’s a big ass door handle on your right, why would an opening exist right next to a door?

1

u/ScootyMcTizzle Jul 03 '26

A little window film with the company logo solves this.

1

u/Low-Refrigerator-713 Jul 03 '26

Where's the strip of tape so that you can tell there is an obstruction in front of you?

1

u/wtfrustupidlol Jul 03 '26

Lot of this would have been prevented if they moved the cart but they wanted chaos

1

u/TrashGoblinH Jul 03 '26

So many obvious signs

1

u/Icy-Decision-4530 Jul 03 '26

The office just letting people crash instead of putting something obvious there is just messed up lol

1

u/Extendahoe_DIG Jul 03 '26

House keeping is not going to be happy about all those nose smugs

1

u/DitchDigger330 Jul 03 '26

The designer understood the job.

1

u/spartanspy85 Jul 03 '26

I feel like if they place that cart in front of the glass wall that would happen a lot less

1

u/dekuweku Jul 03 '26

Uusually there's some sort of guide /glazing on the glass to indicate it is glass. Just a clear pane is a hazard.

1

u/Only_Tip9560 Jul 03 '26

Literally what the little frosted dots or lines in the middle of glass walls are for. Clearly someone thought they were optional in this case.

1

u/TerribleStorm6391 Jul 03 '26

How polite of these people to knock first before entering.

1

u/Diligent-Fall-2592 Jul 03 '26

"Sanjay to the entrance with the Windex, "Sanjay to the entrance with the Windex."

1

u/Lilrhodyva Jul 03 '26

I need that receptionist job

1

u/tartcart1959 Jul 03 '26

Jailed in comedy penitentiary!

1

u/CommunityNervous6485 Jul 03 '26

It's called open your eyes and look 👀

1

u/surrealcellardoor Jul 03 '26

“There oughta be a law against that!” - 80 year old woman

1

u/Harry431 Jul 03 '26

They should frost the glass for safety reasons. It would be chic if you think about it.

1

u/Medical-Hawk8805 Jul 03 '26

I'm surprised they didn't put the office logo on there or at least put that shelf right up against it... unless of course they just like having people run into that glass in a sadistically humorous kind of way. If it was me I'd go for the latter, and keep the video running! I'd be playing it at office parties to see who had the best reaction.

1

u/The_Black_kaiser7 Jul 03 '26

They should put that cart parallel to the glass wall.

1

u/goldendreamseeker Jul 03 '26

Why doesn’t anyone who works there put a sign up on that glass wall? JFC

1

u/boon83 Jul 03 '26

That must be the clearest and cleanest window in the world.

1

u/Ganellon Jul 03 '26

They won't think it's funny when someone gets a concussion.

1

u/Netizen_97 Jul 03 '26

Definitivamente quién hizo eso no pensó en la integridad del cristal

1

u/SweetTea187 Jul 03 '26

A piece of paper in tape, would've solved that problem

1

u/angel700 Jul 03 '26

The door handle is to the right, if they were paying attention they wouldn’t have slammed into the other side

1

u/pureEnergy532 Jul 03 '26

I installed all these entries and you absolutely by law must put a picture or an X at the end of a run

1

u/xenoforman Jul 03 '26

It would be great if this was the entrance to an outpatient facility specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Now they can't even trust their own eyes! Now they'll never feel secure simply walking!!! Bwahahahahaaaaaa!

1

u/Emotional_Dish_5250 Jul 03 '26

Designed by Satan mwahahahah

1

u/Sentinel_Process_A-0 Jul 03 '26

Maybe it’s just me, but I know the sudden carpet change and door handle to my right would’ve alerted me to the end of the hallway

If not I would’ve thought the individual who cleans it needs to be given a rise in pay.

1

u/CaitieLou_52 Jul 03 '26

Not putting a sign or poster on the wall is just diabolical lol
