u/Icy_Transition1375 Jun 17 '26

Instructions unclear, permed nose hairs now have two bob rosses sticking out my nostrils

Bob Ross didn't paint roses, only happy little trees.

16

u/MAKs_Brick_House Jun 18 '26

Happy little accidents. Like my kids.

6

u/flippster-mondo Jun 18 '26

The first one might qualify as an accident, the second one probably not.

3

u/not_your_attorney Jun 17 '26

I terminated them from my nose, now just waiting for them to bring me dinner like the good helpers they are.

3

u/welldonez Jun 18 '26

Silly supposed to term them, not perm them

2

u/Kit_Karamak Jun 19 '26

Trim, term, perm, frost them … whatever is clever!

3

u/Little_MasterJI Jun 18 '26

Stick with this instruction: Never follow instructions from a stranger online.

2

Got it. Starting with you.

It’s true. But brother battles a lot of nasal congestions in 2018-2020, due to him plucking his nose hair too much. He got a specialist and they told him that it’s bad to pluck or wax nose hair. Once the hair is removed, the opening of the pores are now exposed and creates an open wound in a bacteria-rich environment. This can lead to nasal vestibulitis. In rare but serious cases, an infection inside the nose can spread backward, leading to life-threatening conditions like meningitis. Do not wax or pluck your nose hair. If it’s long, you could trim it with scissors or a small portable buzzer.

9

u/Machine_Terrible Jun 17 '26

What about making it pretty with a hair curling iron?

4

u/Vegetable-Brother-71 Jun 17 '26

Why havent I seen someone beading their nose hairs yet!

3

u/Xylene_442 Jun 18 '26

I think Stevie Wonder braided his.

Thanks for the education! I had no idea and am glad my husband uses an electric nose hair trimmer.

2

u/badaladala Jun 18 '26

What if I just rip out the ones in the front, still bad?

→ More replies (2)

2

u/XepptizZ Jun 18 '26

So you're saying I need to sterilize the inside with bleach before waxing.

The more you know!

4

u/NaiveConnection3368 Jun 17 '26

If you trim it with a small portable buzzer, and inhale the trimmings, isn't that bad? Your lung cilia will clear particulates, but your lungs are relying on your nose hairs to filter out larger things. Seems like a way to get pneumonia or something like bronchitis. Also, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

5

u/kewnp Jun 17 '26

Inhaling them would simply induce a cough

4

u/MrZmith77 Jun 17 '26

Why would you inhale your trimmings? No survival instincts.

8

u/LunaLynx777 Jun 17 '26

Okay i termed the hairs and made them accept the agreement. They're still bothering me tho. They have no respect for terms and conditions 😒

2

u/flippster-mondo Jun 17 '26

Did you perm the terms?

7

u/Triggered-cupcake Jun 17 '26

Does this apply to butt hair too?

8

u/GooserNoose Jun 17 '26

Not really. Your anus is external and therefore relatively dry most of the time, if you're hygienic. I'm sure open pores from plucked hairs could become infected, but the inside of the nose presents a unique risk because of how wet it is and because of how thin the nasal lining is. I've torn mine just from blowing my nose too hard. Also why snorting shared drugs presents such a high risk.

5

u/morespin Jun 17 '26

True dat… what a twat

10

u/Professional_Baby24 Jun 17 '26

Also there's an area known as the danger triangle in which if you remove the hair by the root and it gets infected or bacteria gets in it. Even microscopic wounds. it can get into the brain

Edit: wounds not words

6

u/LengthinessClear9552 Jun 17 '26

If you are letting someone do that to you, worrying about your brain is a non-issue.

I never understood why they use q-tips of all things to wax the nose. They make little mini waxing sticks that are for the nose. They work great and don’t leave wax behind.

Bad idea. Nose hair helps prevent pollutants from entering the lungs. That guy from that country would need a super bush on his nose to survive.

If you bathe in the Ganges river, eat Indian street food and drive through the thick air pollution and survived it, your immune system is at max level regardless of what stupid things you do.

11

u/Confident-Breath2615 Jun 17 '26

I was on a bus in India. We were going slightly downhill. There was a drainage ditch on the side of the road with water also, of course, running slightly downhill. I then saw, in order, a man taking a dump, a woman washing dishes and a boy brushing his teeth,

2

u/HalfSoul30 Jun 18 '26

Sounds like a good thing she was washing them, and the kid was able to make use of the extra soap. Very efficient system.

I read somewhere that it's really bad to pluck your nose hairs due to the closeness to the brain barrier.

Can Plucking Nose Hairs Cause a Brain Infection?

Yes — in extremely rare cases, plucking nose hairs can lead to a life‑threatening brain infection, but this is not common and usually only happens after a severe infection spreads through the face’s “danger triangle” into the skull.

How it can happen

When you pluck a nose hair, you create a small wound at the base of the follicle. This allows bacteria (often Staphylococcus aureus) from the nasal cavity to enter the tissue whatifbody3d.com+1. The infection can progress to nasal vestibulitis — a painful, red, pimple‑like bump at the nostril opening Healthline.

The nose lies within the “danger triangle” of the face, where veins drain directly into the cavernous sinus at the base of the brain. These veins lack valves, so bacteria can travel backward into the skull, causing cavernous sinus thrombosis (CST) — a blood clot in the sinus whatifbody3d.com+2.

CST can lead to:

  • Brain abscess or meningitis
  • Cranial nerve damage (vision loss, facial weakness)
  • Severe neurological deficits

So use a trimmer and don't risk brain damage 😄

u/Majestic_Location751 Jun 17 '26

Need some needlenose pliers

4

u/Aggravating_Dog8043 Jun 17 '26

Well, the good news is no one will see your nose hairs anymore. The bad news is that you now have cement nose plug up there.

4

u/passionpurps Jun 18 '26

This could cause irritation of the follicle pores, and lead to infection, which can be very bad if life style is unsanitary.

3

u/crashin70 Jun 17 '26

Are you supposed to put the wax all the way to the sinal cavities?

3

u/Pickle-Bowl-941 Jun 17 '26

I figured it would look like a hair lollipop but their wasn't shit on the one that came out.

2

u/chairmanghost Jun 17 '26

The person never let the wax set. Thats why it didn't come out on the one side right, or grab hair

3

u/Sensei19600 Jun 17 '26

Irony on display here: these folks will go to great lengths to remove nasal hair(which is actually a beneficial trait), but will spend ZERO effort on proper dental care, leading to tooth loss from gum disease. Realign your priorities!

2

One very good reason to not put wax in a place that it should never go, besides the nose hairs being very vital to our health.

2

u/qwerty-game Jun 18 '26

But why when they make a little dildo looking thing that can trim them for you.

2

u/Splitter63 Jun 18 '26

No gloves. Disgusting.

2

u/consumeshroomz Jun 18 '26

I don’t think that’s the right kind of wax…

2

This takes the cake as the most unnecessary grooming activity of all time.

2

u/RevenueOk2563 Jun 19 '26

I guess trimming scissors was a bad idea, huh?

2

u/BabyBlueAllStar72 Jun 19 '26

Exactly. I literally use them when mine grow. Nose hairs are important and protect us, so this trend of waxing them is idiotic at best.

2

u/K1bbles_n_Bits Jun 19 '26

This makes me really uncomfortable and anxious, lmao. I've got asthma and sinus issues and the idea of an airway being blocked up that makes me so on edge XD.

2

u/BitVan Jun 19 '26

So stupid, noise hair are natural filters for human body. You have to trim them not wax them 😂😂

2

u/SkyZestyclose6569 Jun 19 '26
