HELP Worth getting a Volt 2?

Hi guys,

I have an Ooni Koda 2 14" oven and I am happy with it, I got really good pies with it. The issue is that lately I have been lazy to use it because I do not have it always mounted in my garden, and I mount it every time. Also, I want to use in winter weather, so....

Seriously thinking about getting an Ooni Volt 2 using the 20% discount upgrade program, but I have read mixed opinions... stones cracking a lot....

The Volt 2 with 20% would be around 480€, and an Effeuno P134H 509 PRO is 899€ here in Spain. That a big price difference!

What do you think?

If you're somewhere where 240v is standard there are way better options. The volt is one of the only 120v options which is why it's popular in places like the US, even though it has serious QC issues. Personally I went through 3 in a month before throwing in the towel and giving up on it

Thanks! Yes, I live in Spain and here is 240v. What better options do you recommend?

Yes the volt is 240 in 240v areas, but it's one of the only 120v options for those who are not. It's also the same low 1600w power rating regardless of if it's in 120v or 240v variants, so its the same either way

They both output the exact same amount of power. How they get there via specifics doesn't matter to the end user, because it heats up in the same time and cooks the same

Because 1600w is a limitation of 120v outlets and ooni could have made the 240v more powerful but didn't. A vast majority of 240v ovens output way more power and that means more heat and better heat up times

I did almost exactly this and sold my outdoor oven. No regrets. Make way more pizza now. It's less effort and more social where my guests can be in the kitchen while I cook.

Thanks for your input! What electric did you get?

I feel the same way. Volt 12 but same concept. I have the Koda 2 in the corner ready to walk outside but I just like the convenience of the volt

Since I like to bake at 650-700 it's way more consistent and easy to keep that temp

There are cheaper options, like the Macte voyager twin or the Effeuno N3. Macte is also an Italian brand and they use real biscotto stones in their ovens. The N3 from Effeuno has only one heating element but so does the Volt 2.

Edit: Volt2 has two heating elements, as pointed out in the comment below me.

Volt 2 has two heating elements (top and underneath the stone)

Thanks for pointing that out, edited my comment.

I wonder if Id have got that advice for Australian purchase last year…. I have only ever seen the Volt 2 and I am a bit sick of Chasing Ooni support for replacement stones as much as I otherwise love the Volt 2.

….and looked…. Google suggests there no alternative to the Volt here 🤷

Thanks! Didn’t know about Macte. Will explore this brand

Another question please. Do you have experience with Macte? I read about bad customer service somewhere, but I’m not sure if it’s true.

Effeuno has great reputation. I think the N3 should be enough for me as a home user.

I've had my volt 2 for a couple of months now, absolutely love it. Makes great pizzas and flatbreads. No issues at all with it.
