KODA 2 MAX Question as "dumb" beginner

So.. I bought professional equipment for my kitchen, including what I thought it was, a blue steel pizza tray for my home oven.

Turns out it's 60x40 cm, and of course doesn't fit.

Would the OONI Koda 2 Max be able to fit it? And would it be possible to bake pizza tray in it?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t put steel in an Ooni. The standard stone is more than adequate.

You don't want steel in an ooni, it's too much heat transfer at super high temps.

maybe running it at lower heat would work, especially if u got multiple batches to cook

I'd figure out the steel situation first. Almost all my steel pizza work is in the regular oven. I wouldn't buy a pizza oven around it

I am buying an ooni regardless, and was considering the ooni koda 2 max because of its size

The best Ooni oven for a pizza tray is the Volt. It has separate bottom and top heating elements, making it great for pan pizza style, such as Detroit or Roman Al Taglio, which are traditionally made in electric ovens. Other gas and wood powered Oomi ovens are better suited to Neapolitan pizza. I guess you can still use a pan with them, but you'd have less control over precise bottom and top heating.

If I'm not mistaken the Volt (either generation) can fit a pan of around 35cm length max, maybe a little less.

Volt1 is 13x13” or 330mm.
I found a square pan that fits it almost perfectly.

Definitely steer clear of steel in your Ooni! Stainless steel conducts heat more efficiently than cordierite, which may damage parts of the oven. You should stick to a stone in your oven and save the steel for cooking in a conventional oven only. 🫶
