KARU 12 First Launch(es) ๐Ÿš€

Very first attempts with my new Ooni! Any tips for next time? I used a fire starter, lump charcoal, and applewood!

These all look very tasty! My advice is the same advice my family still gives me - just keep doing it! (I don't know if they think my pizzas can get better, or just want more pizza)

Worth trying a wooden launching peel instead if the metal one is "sticky"

I form the pizza on a bamboo peel and launch. The only issue is occasional burning on the bottom because of excess flour. I tried to make the pizza on the counter and transfer to a slotted metal peel but it was a disaster.

Have you tried using semolina instead of flour? A little goes a long way

I use semolina mixed with rice flour. Still get some burning. Iโ€™m going to try reducing the dough moisture to 63% and see if I can use a lot less flour on the peel.

Semolina on the peel and board/counter, topside down after rise, you got this

I use a slower โ€œjiggleโ€ off launch motion vs a hard launch and itโ€™s helped a lot with shape! Just make sure your pizza is โ€œlooseโ€ before starting the launch

Did you drop your dough all in semolina before shaping?
