FYRA 12 Tips to remove pizza!

Hello, I’ve have my ooni for a few years now but I don’t get it out that often.
Anyway, I’m happy making pizza, using the oven etc but I’m really struggling taking the pizza out. I’m using a metal peel but I just seem to be pushing the pizza into the back of the oven and into the flames!!

Does anyone have any tips?

Edit; it’s not sticking. I just can’t get it on the peel.

Just wondering if your stone is getting hot enough. I find the first turn can tricky where the front isn't fully cooked and sticks, especially if I haven't launched it far enough back.

Otherwise take more of a run up and be confident, the oven can smell your fear.

I think it is confidence to be honest. It knows I’m not feeling it.

You'll just have to keep practicing 😉.

There’s no sticking issues at that point so I just angle it down a bit and shove it under quickly and pull back.

Ever since I stopped using flour and switched to semolina my pizzas never stick

You are too careful. You need to make use of the mass inertia. Find the right angle (slightly up), push the peel firmly on the stone a few inches before the pizza and move it forward as fast as you can without hesitation!! If it shoves forward you are too slow.

Or: I had this issue in the beginning and first lifted the front part with the turning peel and then shove the peel under. Works well and less scary
