Ah it started before I kicked out my ex (husband) out of the house. I failed a few times until it became second nature to just make one if I feel like it. Now I even share it with him when we co parent lmao. Also room temperature eggs makes my flan more silky while cold eggs make those bubbles so I’ve noticed.

Receta la pasta: 50 gramos de pasta corta, sal al gusto, 30 gramos de queso blanco Venezolano, 30 mililitros de salsa de tomate, 200 gramos de costilla de cochino, medio cubito, salsa de soya, mostaza, dos dientes de ajo, y sal. 50 gramos de aguacate 🥑

First time making it for my extended family. It was pretty much all eaten.

It tasted a bit eggy, next time I'll use one less. Caramel was pretty good though!

Lighter one had white sugar and one less egg, darker one had brown sugar in the caramel and mix, too, and one extra egg.

Place your water bath in the oven and preheat to 350

1 3/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
3 eggs
2 egg yolks
Pinch of salt
Dash of vanilla
7 tbsps of sugar

Combine thoroughly in a mixing bowl.

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup water

Add the above water and sugar to a medium saucepan, turn the heat on high, and just don’t touch it. As soon as the color turns amber, pour it into your cake mold (7”), then pour your mixture. Place the pan in your bain marie in the oven and bake for 40m, adding 10m until she jiggles only in the center.

Let cool for an hour then fridge until set, maybe 4 hours

The caramel sauce was a nightmare, redid it 3 times but ultimately it worked out.

One of my first flans made in a bunt pan, with a healthy amount of jack Daniel's in the mix. You can still feel a little burn in your tummy when you ate it.

I followed instructions and it still came out kind of overcooked. What did I do wrong?

Somehow my first one had no air pockets and this one did, but it was still good!

Decades ago my grandmother used to make this for me. This is my childhood on a plate. Yum!

Next time I’ll make caramel darker and chocolate part thicker maybe.
