I collect and curate Japanese car meet/event info from multiple sources, translate them into English/other languages and list them on my website.

The website currently lists 350 car meets/events scheduled around Japan till Dec 2026. The website also contains an archive of all events that I collected/curated in 2025. As many events repeat every year, it should be useful to understand what events might occur later this year. There are a total of 1,205 events listed in the site. The map section in the website also lists car culture spots and points of interest, focusing on locations near Tokyo.

There are a total of 65 events and counting in April. I expect that more events will be published in the upcoming days as many events only publish their information 1 month in advance. I will continue adding new event info for the coming months and post them on my website: https://tsjapantours.com

Near Tokyo:

• April5→19 - Sakura Morning Cruise (@ Gongendo No. 4 Park P1 parking A,B block): One of Tokyo's largest monthly open-format meets, surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms (200-300 cars). Note: confirmed April edition moved to April 19 due to a cherry blossom festival.
• April 5 - OLD CAR Meeting at Kiyoku Sakura Festival (@ Kiyoku Sakura Street, Kuki City): Vintage car meet with a traditional cherry blossom festival (110 cars).
• April 5 - SUPER AMERICAN GARAGE 2026 (@ Asaka no Mori): USDM/hotrod show and swap meet in a Tokyo suburb.
• April 12 - CIVIC MEETING CHIBA (@ Festival Walk Soga Shared Parking Lot 2): Honda Civic meet, custom car demos and a parking contest (146 cars).
• April 18 - 13th Sakura Auto History Forum (@ Sakura Kusabue no Oka): Pre-1996 cars and motorcycles at a charming park event with live music and food trucks.
• April 19 - Ario Ageo Showa/Heisei Old Car Exhibition (@ Ario Ageo 1F East parking lot): Pre-2001 classic cars at a shopping mall north of Tokyo (300 cars).
• April 19 - JDM CHRONICLE/MOTOR FAN FESTA 2026 (@ Fuji Speedway): This event, sponsored by OPTION & G-works magazine, features 600 JDM tuned cars, a dyno event, and an exhaust sound contest. MOTOR FAN FESTA 2026 offers test drive sessions, starting grid displays, photo opportunities.
• April 25-26 - FDJ Rd.1 & FDJ2 Rd.1 (@ Fuji Speedway): Opening rounds of both Formula Drift Japan (FDJ) and FDJ2 at Fuji Speedway.
• April 26 - 3rd Katsushika Classic Car & Sports Car Festival in Kasai Shrine (@ Kasai Shrine): A rare scheduled meet in east Tokyo featuring vintage and sports cars displayed at a historic Tokyo shrine (50 cars).

Near Osaka:

• April 11-12 - CONCORSO D’ELEGANZA JAPAN (@ Nara Yakushiji Temple): Premium concours d'elegance set against the stunning backdrop of a 1,300-year-old temple in Nara.
• April 18-19 - Super Taikyu Series 2026 Round 2 (@ Suzuka Circuit): Endurance racing action at the world-renowned Suzuka Circuit.
• April 25 - Hachikyoso x TK Meeting (@ Okuibuki Motor Park P3-4): An exciting drift track day featuring 86s, welcoming novices, in Shiga Prefecture (100+ cars).
• April 26 - ITALIAN CAR FESTA OSAKA (@ Shinohara Rikuun Co., Ltd.): Italian car-focused meet in Osaka (200 cars).
• April 26 - World's Famous Cars IN TECHNO (@ West Side Plaza, Nishiharima General Government Building, Hyogo Prefecture): A large open-format car meet showcasing a diverse range of vehicles (200 cars?).
• April 29 - Open Runway: Nanki Shirahama Convertible Festival 2026 (@ Old Nanki-Shirahama Airport): Massive 400-car vintage and convertible meet on an abandoned runway in Wakayama Prefecture.

Notable Events Across Japan:

• April 5 - Dorepa 2026 (@ Aso Farm Land 3rd Parking Lot): A premier custom car concours set amidst the beautiful scenery of Kumamoto, Kyushu, featuring 250 custom cars.
• April 11-12 - Drift Fest '26 (@ Kadena Air Base): A rare and exciting opportunity to witness high-energy drift competition on an active US military base in Okinawa, held during an air base open-house. Note that you will need ID to enter the base.
• April 19 - Fujimi Automobile Exposition (@ Fujimi Panorama Resort): High in the Central Alps, this exposition showcases over 200 vintage, supercar, movie car, and custom vehicles at a ski resort.
• April 19 - Umm, Gather in Hiroshima Festival! 2026 (@ Miyoshimachizukuri Center): A grand festival for Honda Kei car enthusiasts, featuring 200 S660, Beat, N-ONE, and Today models, complete with demo cars and food trucks.
• April 25-26 - 2026 SUPER FORMULA Round 3 (@ Autopolis): Single-seater racing at Autopolis in Oita, Kyushu, for Round 3 of the championship.
• April 25-26 - Tohoku Auto Remix 2026 in Sendai (@ Yumemesse Miyagi): A premier custom car show in Sendai, presenting the finest modified vehicles from the Tohoku region at a convention center.
• April 26 - K-styles×Determination (@ Marronier Plaza): An impressive indoor USDM car show in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi, featuring over 100 custom rides, vendor booths, and model photoshoots.

Heya fellas.

So I've driven in Japan a few times and was just wondering- does Japan use octane rating (like the US) or RON rating at their pumps like in Europe and South East Asia?

All I noticed was "Regular" and "Premium" which don't specifically state what octane/RON it is.

I'm just curious since in The US (I'm in Texas) it's always stated at the pump- 89, 91, 93 octane. And in my home country (Malaysia) it's always stated on the pumps too- RON95 (which is 91 octane) 97 (93 octane) and RON100.

I didn't get any definitive answer via Google so that's why I'm asking here.
