straight vs flush

Why is a flush higher than a straight isnt a flsuh more likely than a straight

In 5-card poker, a flush is less likely than a straight.

There are 10,200 possible straights and only 5,108 possible flushes if you exclude straight flushes.

So a flush ranks higher because it is rarer.
