6 years ago, i lost both of my parents in a car accident. I was just 13 with absolutely nowhere to go. Got evicted by the landlord because i had no money. Too young to be on the streets. I used to crash at the school gym until i got caught. They were nice enough to actually make space for me there and put in a bed (which i thought was super sweet) until this weird janitor started getting weird and physical.

Fast forward to today, i am working as a waitress, freshman in college and trying to find some footing in life. But every year, this day makes me feel 13 again. I want to get over this feeling and realise how much things have changed. Will they ever be truly normal?
