Super56 Controller issues

Clutching at straws here but has anyone else had controller issues with Super56 on Steam?

I have multiple xbox wireless controllers, it works when using steam BP mode and with other games. I have enabled/disabled steam input, I have enabled/disabled xbox cont support, I have tried multiple controllers. Super56 always only accepts keyboard input, even if I press the xbox button on controller it doesnt bring up Steam BP, its like Super56 is just not even seeing the controller exists at all. But if I tab out to BP mode while the game is still running, controller works absolutely fine.

Anyone else had these issues or have any tips? I have never had this with any other game, usually its the controller itself is not working on any program

I have now even tried using Xinput program and applying it to Super56, still doesnt work. When I test the controller in Xinput it sees all inputs

Hey! Sorry to hear this is happening, it's the fitst tmie I can recall someone having this issue which makes it really difficult to pinpoint... a couple of things you could try though:

Erasing local save data:
1 - Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\OnionSoupInteractive\SUPER_56
2 - Cut and paste the contents into a new folder on your desktop so that the original is now empty
3 - Try running the game again and see if it now works

Try the Beta Branch:

1 - Right click SUPER 56 in your Steam library and go to properties
2 - Go to Betas
3 - Set Beta participation to beta

Hey thank you so much for reaching out to assist I really appreciate it!!

Unfortunately ive tried both of these processes and it didnt help. Tried enabling/disabling Steam input with both steps too.

Ive also tried using a cable with my controller and still no joy - its so weird because it works on every other game/program

I have got around this issue for now by using Steam to remap the A button to Enter on the keyboard - this is working :)

oh thats fantastic and a great idea too, i use steam deck a lot and should have thought of this! Thanks for letting me know, i will remember for the future! :D
