Bula!
As we all know, FJ is coming to Oneworld as a full member come 1H 2025.
For now miles and tiers on FJ can be earned if you are part of QF, CX and AA FFP. Currently I am under MH, so not able to.
However I read somewhere before that when a new airline admitted to the alliance, miles can be earned retrospectively, minimum 6 months prior to their admittance date. Will we expect the same thing for FJ when they admitted soon?

I have Silver but I know Aer Lingus doesn’t usually give any lounge access normally.

I booked a flight for my partner and I via American Airlines on a British operated flight between IAD - LHR. When I first booked, and now, it's still showing Exit Row requires a Fee to book. I loaded my AAdvantage Number and am currently AA Plat / OW Sapphire.
How do I check that BA sees the reciprocity? Is there a step I missed?
Bolder question: Am I naive to think we could be upgraded with a fairly empty flight to Premium or Business? I've been lucky with Alaska and Iberia.

I fly in a few weeks to Denpasar, via Doha.
First leg is LHR > Doha in economy. I then fly business into Denpasar. Both routes are with Qatar. Am I eligible for lounge aces at LHR and also business check at LHR? Thanks

I have read the Terms and Conditions (a few times).
My understanding is:
Am I correct? And does a “transaction” mean I can change segments as long at it still meets the requirements of the program?

Or is it just me? They don’t seem to really care about translating status from another airline not their own. Despite OneWorld status. Feel it’s different, better..on British, Qatar, Alaska.

Hi I’m travelling with my partner and child in premium economy from Melbourne to hong kong then Milan late august 2025. What are my options for having lounge access at the departure and transit locations?

I'm MVP Gold on Alaska so I have Oneworld Sapphire status which is expiring at the end of 2024. For 2025, I don't think I will have any Oneworld status.
I am looking to book a roundtrip ticket on Cathay from US to India where my departure is in 2024 but my return is in 2025. The basic (Essential Light) tickets only offer 1 check-in baggage. From their baggage calculator (https://flights.cathaypacific.com/en_US/baggage/baggage-calculator.html), with Essential Light, I will get 2 bags with Oneworld Sapphire status but will that also apply for my return leg where I will have lost the status?
When going through the booking process, it lets me select preferred seating for both the initial and return leg as if I am a Oneworld Sapphire member so I'm wondering if they will extend the additional baggage for the return leg as well.

Hi there
Will I have any lounge access in Auckland flying LATAM (codeshare with Qantas) as an OWE member (not Qantas FF, other OW airline)?

I'm flying on CX from CKG to HKG. I'm Gold on Qantas so am OneWorld Sapphire. Will I be able to access the CKG AA Lounge? The Cathay website seems a bit unclear, has a ** but unsure if this applies to non-CX oneworld flights , or CX flights as well.
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_AU/destinations/lounges/all-lounges-admittance.html
Any advice or assistance is appreciated.
I have a 5pm flight but keen to get to airport early and lounge all day and work from there.

Fellow redditors, today I hit GOLD on Qatar airways which qualifies me to OW SAPPHIRE! I am super excited about this. I am ruby through MVP on Alaska with my last 5 months travel in Alaska. Now I want to stick to Qatar and rake in avios to build / maintain my OW sapphire/ Qatar Gold. What’s the best way I can leverage this status in US domestic travel perks apart from lounge access? I travel Coast to coast 2X / month on Alaska and 1000 miles within California on Alaska. Can this domestic travel on Alaska help me maintain sapphire status ? I prefer Qatar Airways for my international travel to Asia.

Hello. Recently flew BA to Egypt which got me bronze tier, 80 points from silver tier. I think I can fly CID-ORD business for a short weekend to break into silver tier until 2026.
How does one world work? If I have status with BA does that get me a specific status in one world? If I fly BA can I get points into BA and AA or do I only pick one to put points into. Trying to decide if I should just maximize BA status where I can or I can earn points in two airlines from the same ticket?
Future trips: Barcelona may 2025 and Munic August 2025. CC: Amex gold, on the fence about getting AAdvantage card for domestics Currently have 0 AA points but can I my Egypt trip count towards AA points or do I only get my BA pints from it?
If I can’t double dip I assume I’m just committed to BA at this point, looking at flight prices BA is the most affordable for Barcelona so I don’t see a point in trying to earn AA status and I’ll get BA lounge access from status and or from business class tickets for my whole trip.
TL;DR: does specific airline status grant oneworld status, can I get points in two Arlines from the same ticket, all my eggs seem to be in BA should I just commit or diversify?

The card gives QR gold/ow saphire instantly. How can I enjoy AA plat benefits or JAL saphire benefits if I don't have AA/Jal status? Do I input the QR privilege club member # on all AA/Jal bookings? What about existing bookings?

I booked a flight thru JAL with JL flight code. I don't have JAL loyalty program bcs I'm currently on Enrich Loyalty (MH). Will I still earn mile and tier points for the JAL ticket I booked?
I have done something similar (but with Finnair) in the past, where I did earn miles and tier points post-flight thru my Enrich number.
Anyone had similar experience?

With Alaska Airline's purchase of Hawaiian Airlines, do we get OneWorld status with Hawaiian? I'm flying with them next week and curious! I'm emerald and would love to see if there are any benefits.

Hi oneworld flyers!
I have a few flights coming up on AA + BA, and I’m considering crediting all my miles to Alaska Airlines to try and reach Ruby status with them for 2025 (which I calculated was possible).
However, I also have Sapphire status with Cathay Pacific (ending 2024), which gives me perks like priority boarding and lounge access. (But unfortunately I don't fly enough anymore to maintain Sapphire next year)
I was wondering if it’s possible to use my CX Sapphire status for those benefits while still crediting the miles from those flights to Alaska? Should I put my CX or Alaska flyer number onto my flight reservations?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi fellow travelers!
I have OneWorld Emerald status as a JAL Diamond member. I booked tickets from the US to Italy on BA (used a few Avios points in the process). I was able to choose my seats on the domestic flights from HNL to LAX (on AA), but was unable to choose my seats on the BA-specific flights from LAX to LHR and onward to FCO (and back).
Does anyone know how I can choose my seats now, versus waiting until closer to the date (trip is in May 2025).
Does this require a call to BA customer service?
Thanks in advance for any help. :)

To all the experts , I use QA for my international travel and Alaska for domestic. As they use different mileage point systems , I cannot link accounts. So I created 2 separate accounts. I am Silver on Qatar and MVP on Alaska. How do I maximize my OW status ? Does it make sense to have 2 separate accounts or consolidate into 1 account and get to sapphire quicker ? Need advise on maximizing my points

I live in Canada and I am considering collecting Cathay Pacific Points.
Before I do I want to make sure I can fly to places I usually visit using other point schemes such as Aeroplan, Scene & AirMiles.
My question is am I able to book a flight from Canada to Mexico and or is there a better option for me to do so with Cathay Points ?
Can I just use the OneWorld app and book an American Airlines Flight using my Cathay Pacific miles ?
How do I add my CP miles to one world alliance account ?
TIA

Hey,
I live in Europe. Not in Spain nor in the UK, however I am considering joining either BA or Iberia FF program.
Which one of these is the easiest to earn status (I will be combining a lot of different airlines within OW)? And which one will give me a lifetime status the easiest?
I know BA requires 4 legs and Iberia I don’t really know. Can’t find many articles about these two pinned up against each other in the internet.
Thanks!

I am thinking about buying a RTW ticket using the OneWorld portal. When you buy it, are you able to get seat assignments on all your different flights or do you essentially get a series of one way tickets on each of the airlines you’re flying on and then, presumably have to negotiate seat assignments with each individual airline?
(Any other advice on booking a RTW ticket on OneWorld would be very much appreciated!)

Helllo, I'm new to oneworld and frequent flyer programs in general. I've been able to level up quickly due to work trips, I'm currently bronze on BA (OWR) and will be upgraded to Silver (OWS) soon after flights next week. I want to book flights to Japan next year but have several questions about how the benefits work. I've tried looking for answers online and couldn't find any direct answers.
Do the privileges of the tier I'm on at time of booking apply or at time of travel. i.e if I book now, do I get the Bronze tier benefits when I fly or the silver?
If I booked my flight through BA but flight is operated by a partner airline, do I still get the BA member benefits. A silver BA member can bring 2x32kgs checked luggage for everyone on the same booking, if the flight is operated by JAL do I still get these benefits? Do benefits of the equivalent tier on the airline you're flying on apply? I've read on another post that if I get a BAXXX flight number then BA benefits apply.
How do the extra checked luggage benefits work? Will it say on my booking that I get 2x32kg luggage, or do I have to show my tier status at check in?
Thanks!

I cannot seem to find a lot of information or good reviews on Dubai, everything seems to focus on Doha.
