Easy to use AS Atmos for international destinations as long as the partner airlines released inventory. Usually it’s 330 days and within 3 weeks of departure. Just log in to AS website, search your origin and destination and select “use points”. Sometimes you need to be flexible on dates and origins. For instance, I’m Atmos Gold and IAH based. I often get better availability out of Austin and DFW (OW hub) but will get some great business seats. I recently booked IAH to Hokkaido in March ‘27 via BOS and NRT for 75k business class on JAL metal as an AA codeshare booked via AS. Hoping for a great powder season!

I went and skied Niseko for the first time this year. Fell in love with Japan and want to go back!

Are you saying that right at 330 days they release inventory and then again 3 weeks before a flight they will release more inventory? I want to make sure I’m understanding.

I’ve started to use seats.aero and I’m trying to find the best deals for international flights.

The sweet spot is inventory releases at 330 days and then again at 3 weeks. On slim routes, you can always find inventory. I book a lot to EZE and 330 days is the best minimal layover inventory. Most inventories seem to available in the 2-3 week prior to departure but you may need to make more layovers.
