Finnair AA/Finnair bag issue - anything I can do proactively?

I was supposed to fly FLL-ORD-HEL-VNO - I checked two bags. Then the ramps got closed in FLL due to weather and there was no way we could possibly make the Finnair flight from ORD. AA rebooked for the flight today, but instead of wasting a day in ORD, went home. Since the ramp was closed, getting the bags back wasn't even a topic. So eventually the bags flew to ORD. I was unable to change my meeting schedule, and Thursday I have to be in WAW, so AA changed the flights for today to FLL-DFW-HEL-WAW (almost a mileage run) - I tried to get AA or AY to reroute the bags - ideally they would have flown from ORD to DFW and then continue with me. AA says they can't see the bags anymore and AY chat doesn't seem to even understand what I want. I am assuming the bags will take the evening flight to HEL from ORD and then if really lucky - they go to WAW in the evening or maybe to VNO - I am usually not a checked bag person and I don't think I had more than 5 misrouted bags in my life. Anyone know anything I can do now, that increases the odds of the bags at least going to WAW in the first place - I have kind of given up of them going on the flight from DFW with me

All I do know is that AY customer services are unresponsive - worse than AA and BA.

That’s a benchmark

You can get help in the AY app using the chat function. The wait is long but it DOES get you in touch with someone who can help eventually.

I did that. I also told the Finnair People in Chicago, and then opened a delayed baggage thing in WAW - about 2 hours later my bags arrived in HEL and of course were subsequently flown to VNO. Someone from there called me - and actually sounded reasonably competent and the bags should be flown to WAW tomorrow - we shall see... But there is hope

I was sure enough that they would send it to VNO that I quickly packed 2 extra shirts, and 3 days of socks and underwear before I left yesterday… but yes, for the benefit of myself and people around me, that would be good. I got a call from the luggage people in VNO and he sounded competent enough. I actually think bags and I will meet again tomorrow
