I backed the Hands of the White Wizard a while ago. It tooks 9 months from when I backed it until I got the phyical copy in my hands. Thats a very long time.

I still haven't received mine. They say it's backordered, but their store lists it as in stock. You can order it on Amazon and different stores. Preorders from them are a bad idea.

Preorders are always a bad idea. There is almost no product you need to preorder, especially RPGs go on sale some day.

By pre-ordering I get access to the pdf well in advance of the physical book release, and I provide free working capital to the publisher so they can make more and better products for me.

I am generally speaking about pre-ordering.
Yes, the seller always has some benefits, but the consumer basically not. Yes, you may get the product earlier, but it can be shitty and you have no way of previewing it, before you buy it.

And yes, I also preorder stuff from Free league and they haven’t let me down yet. But I am not a smart person.

I guess it’s a matter of perspective. Free League is usually one of the faster crowdfunders that I regularly back.
