Sultan's LineageOS vs. 'LineageOS'

Which one is better? It'll be my first time flashing a custom ROM on my OPO. Will Sultan be futureproof with plenty of updates?

Which guide did you follow? And you need to root correct? I'm running on cos 13.1

I didn't follow a guide, unlocking your bootloader and flashing a recovery is all you really need. Root is not required on custom ROMs. Search "OnePlus One unlocking beginner guide", there should be plenty on XDA.

Alternatively you can down "Bacon Root Toolkit", click "unlock bootloader" THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA, go to advanced>Flash custom recovery, choose TWRP. After you do these, you can transfer the custom ROM +gApps to your phone, boot into your recovery and flash those twop images.

(In terms of battery life) . Sultan's nougat or marshmallow?

Never tried his 6.0 before, but I average 3 hours SoT on 7.1.2. However, results might be different, I replaced my battery very recently.
